A court in the southern Indian city of Hyderabad has cleared actor N Balakrishna of shooting a film producer and his assistant last year.
The actor had faced several charges, including attempted murder. His wife was accused of destroying evidence.
The judge said there was insufficient evidence against the couple after a two-month hearing.
The two people injured in the shooting had retracted their statements and become hostile to the prosecution.
Producer, Bellamkonda Suresh and his assistant, Satyanarayana Chowdhary, were injured at Mr Balakrishna's home in the Jubilee Hills area of Hyderabad in June last year.
The actor himself was hospitalised after he complained of chest pains following the incident.
Judge K Rajagopal Reddy threw out the case on Friday. ^^^ HAPLESS POLICE.^^^^
Hyderabad city police commissioner, V Dinesh Reddy, said he would make a detailed assessment of the case before deciding whether to take it to a higher court.

At the time of the shooting, Mr Chowdhary, who had a bullet lodged near his spinal cord, said he was shot when he tried to intervene in an argument.
