Metro Rail Project

by Sri » Sun Apr 09, 2006 5:33 pm

Today I travelled all through the Metro railway line project in New Delhi.

There are basically Two systems involved.

One is the Tube (Under ground) Train TYPE.

Another is the Flying train( Fly over type).

There are only two main junctions connecting the Two systems ( Tube pathway and flyover rail pathway.)

They are located at Kashmiri Gate and RAJIV CHOWK( CANNAUGHT place)

SOFAR THEY ARE MAINTAINING THE SYSTEM EXCELLENTLY.

Is it possible / necessary for Hyderabad to operate trains like this?

Any ideas? views?

Maybe if the MMTS was better planned, we wudnt need the metro
Things are supposed to happen the way they happen. And the reason they happen the way the happen is because you try to make them happen in a certain way and may or may not be succesful.

naaa, i dont think so,

the mmts was never on busiest routes like dilsukhnagar-tarnaka-secunderabad or ameerpet -kukatpally,

it was on existing lines only, since cummuting time of mmts was same as the

ordinary bus, people opted for bus itself,

with metro i can reach miyapur within 30 minutes for dsnr rather spending 90 minutes in heavy traffic it makes sense to me...

Thats whats meant by better planning. Greater coverage and quicker transport shud've been their aims.

We need to Metro for present and for future.

we dont want to go like bangalore is going right now.

1) If v have metro to hitech city or fab city from resedential areas,

v can reduce the traffice by 30-40 %

2) We need metro for future within 10 year ,hyd will become another delhi,

better be prepared for future,

3) we need to project our city better and there is also competition not only

from indian cities but also from other countries.

4)It will be another feather in cap of Hyderabad.

one can see that world is watching US
