The war is fought

and the war is won

The pains of wounded soldier still remains.

The soldier is slowly forgotton by the society.

But the country joys

Sachin Tendulkar has contributed- fought the war for 17 years.

Now wounded.

Now the world is slowly forgetting him.

He is the wounded warrier of Indian Cricket.

My sincere apologies for my own comments.

Only the foolish will forget Sachin. His exploits will keep him alive for years and generations.

Wounded? Maybe. But not so seriously wounded as your poem above would portray him to be.

Well....apologies accepted for the last one. But here, you go to the other extreme and deliver another infamita on the great little master. How low can one get?

i think sehwag vindicated himself today (kinda).

but with sachin , i just dunno what to think ...

i think we can all agree that while he is the greatest bat in india , he seems to have lost the thread of the plot of late. in the sense that he seems more interested in personal stats rather than team results ...

but as HP asked .... somebody ought to eulogise parinda.

so here goes ...

tENDulkar and Indian cricket

by Samar » Sat Apr 01, 2006 6:23 pm

Indian cricket is in dire straits once again, Sachin does not want to retire. Players like Kaif, Raina and many others will not get a chance even if they score 200 in a day because Indian selection committee can't dare drop Sachin BHAI** ... Most of the senior cricketers agree that it is time for Sachin to think of retirement (Sachin does not think so, he still wants to play with the emotions of the people and make money at the expense of his country) shameless statement saying I am not yet finished and I will come back (to make more money and a few more records) ... disgusting. Why doesn’t he understand that all things come to an end sooner or later and his end has also come, after a long time in my opinion.

If he wants to make a comeback he should also prove himself in the domestic competitions like Ganguly. Same yardstick should be used to measure the performance of all the players .

I agree that Sachin's PERSONAL record is very very good but, what has been his contribution to the team and Indian cricket? How many test matches has he won or saved for India? He is only after money and personal records. Players like Dravid, Laxman, Ganguly and in the recent past Yuvraj have made very useful contributions and have always played in the interest of the team (whenever the team needed them) and the country are not given the credit due to them. Sachin has always disappointed the team when it needed him the most. The media has over supported him all the time and now he is blaming the same media for the booing episode in Mumbai. He has been unduly elevated so high by the bias media and a few former test cricketers (present commentators) mostly from the west zone. The greatest contribution to the Indian cricket has been made by Kapil Dev and everybody has forgotten that he is the one who brought laurels for the whole nation by winning the world cup. He is the real person to be hailed and made god (Indian media and public are bent upon making Sachin the god), his has been the biggest contribution to the Indian cricket. Cricket became a religion in India due to Kapil's Devils. How long do we have to bear with the bias media, cricket board and the commentators? If Sachin has a little self respect left in him he should retire gracefully now and make way for deserving youngsters..... Come on India wake up ... don't you think we have had enough of this selfish money hungry cricketer......

I think he is wounded and aged.

He cant match with the active youngsters of this day.

Right.

I think,

This is the time for him for decent retirement.

Lest he may face unwanted insults.

What about the personal records he cares a lot about for , remember we have had so many instances where he played for his century than for Indi ato win, if we want to be remembered for a single palyer then we would be like WestIndies which is know for Lara ,and not like Australia..Its time he realizes it and teh selectors realise it too..

The problem with opinions is that every idiot can have one one.

As far as I know most of these idiots do not even watch the game to bother with statistics or players, but always have a opinion handy for each individual playing the game. Otherwise how can the morons not know sachins contribution to indian cricket or his recent form.

All it takes is to go to Cricinfo and gather batting stats in his recent matches.

Something to shut up the 'experts'

Sachins last 4 innings: 95, 42, 100, 30...

Just an observation and not meant to debate on any point made here. The link that you pasted here shows Sachin's ODI record. And his ODI form is not a concern at all. Its his showing in tests which are sparking off all these controversies.
