Theater is very good, awesome interiors, but exhorbitantly priced, like 35 bucks for a hot dog, wtf?
Things are supposed to happen the way they happen. And the reason they happen the way the happen is because you try to make them happen in a certain way and may or may not be succesful.

ahem...

Well, finally yesterday I had visited PVR@Central to catch Rang De Basanti. Having had the PVR experience in Delhi and Bangalore, I had very high expectations from this new venue and I am happy to say that the Bijlis havent disappointed me!

The first good experience for me was with the PVR internet booking system. Its very efficient, unlike Prasad's pathetic internet booking policy and system. The best part was that I could even choose my seat online! And then since the ticket is prepaid by credit card, there is no nonsense like being asked to collect it "one hour before show".

The ticket rate of 90/- bucks (+10 surcharge for internet booking) might be on the higher side, but IMO it is definitely worth it if the movie in question is a good one (like RDB). It wud be terrible, atleast for me, to pay such a high amount for, say, an Imran Hashmi or a Balakrishna flick.

Coming to the multiplex itself, its first rate. The lobby is well designed and furnished comfortably. The plasma TVs hanging on the walls run ads and trailors providing for ample "timepass" during the waiting period. The snacks at the consession stand are varied but are priced on the higher side. The USP seems to be the freshly made chicken hotdog, which is quite good, as are the sandwiches. Pizza Corner also has an outlet here.

The auditorium looks awesome, all decked up in Royal Red. The seats are very ergonomic and also wide enough for large, or as indians love to say, "healthy" people. The leg space is also comfortable. Even the cupholders looked unique n good. One funny thing tho: there seems to be no "I" row. Its "J" immediately after "H". Since I had my seat in "J", it took me n few others too, some time to figure this out.

The AC was perfect and the sound system even more so! The hall acoustics were perfect in relation to the seating and the volume was not eardrum-blasting, unlike most "massy" hyderabad theaters.

I would rate this much better than Prasads. Its high time Prasads got some competetion and pulled up its socks, esp with regard to customer service. All that is left is for PVR to open the other two screens here (only 3 screens are functioning now). Now the next multiplex to open might be INOX at GVK One, sometime towards the end of this year.

Having designed such a site, dont u think they have a major flaw in their net booking system?? I mean, when u choose the city, why should the movies of other cities be there in the nest drop down list?? It is like website of Indian Airlines.

Did not check out the actual place. Mixed reactions. Some say the lobby is cheap daa types but ur opinion differs. Lets see...

yes, its a usability defect and simple to fix actually...but thankfully the browser doesnt crash if the wrong movie is selected!
