Madras had a Telugu speaking majority (90%) before AP formation and was to be part of AP
and so was Tirupathi
But since AP cannot have all the major cities, we kept tirupathi

how does this prove the politicians as lazy n corrupt?Sri wrote:It slipped in TN hands in the year 1959.
Thanks the Lazy and corrupt politicians of AP .

how does it matter to the people...? is it affecting their daily life?Sri wrote:how does this prove the politicians as lazy
The Politicians should have been very active.
Especially the MPs in those days should have given a fight in the Parliament.
Even nowadays, In Tirutani Telugu is used bit more than Tamil.

we may feel this false pride vis-a-vis states on gaining or losing a taluk or a district. But why do we forget that we are Indians first and Andhrites or Tamilians later?

In our state of domicile we feel and treated like first class citizens.
In other states we are not treated as 1 class citizens.
This is the unfortunate fact in India.

even i agree with N-HP. tho i am not an andhrite or a telugu, i never felt differently treated than the telugus. such feeling of discrimination is surely an imagination or an exaggerated explanation of any other grievance.Nationalistic HP wrote:I differ. .....Sri wrote:In our state of domicile we feel and treated like first class citizens.we may feel this false pride vis-a-vis states on gaining or losing a taluk or a district. You are the first person who came up with this first class/second class treatment issue. I've never faced this earlier and haven't heard anyone else facing it either....

Why do I see this frightening ultra-nationalistic mindset when it comes to states?
