Are earthquakes and mans 'raping of mother nature' related? :?
People are crazy, at times are strange. I am locked-in tight, I am out of range.
I used to care, but things have changed.

the earthquake by itself isnt but the casualty is becoz of over population and construction of eco-unfriendly houses.

the recent hurricanes are the direct consequences of global warming. melting polar ice caps change the temperature, speed and directions of ocean currents, which in turn affect the climate of the atmosphere causing abnormal patterns like hurricanes, unseasonal rains/storms etc.

Legend has it that god formats everything he/she created every X years ( whatever X is!). You can attribute the recent demonstrations of mother nature to that in terms god being angry. We humans have corrupted every bit of nature that was supposed to belong to all species. Each species was supposed to be confined to a certain type topography. Like the corals, the penguins and the kangaroos. Perhaps we humans were only supposed to live in pockets without effecting or interfering with other species. But we did, we dug holes for oil, burned oil, invented everything assuming that it would run on oil.We even dug a whole on ozone. We let the sewage join lakes and rivers. We have started to invade other homes for oil.

We let our streets look dirty. We spit everywhere. We break rules and complain about other rule breakers. We cheat. We backstab. We lie.We lie to overselves. We kill innocents because we feel religion allows killing the invaders of homeland. We think we know religion just by reading the abridged pocket book versions. We question god on the basis of knowing little bit of science.

Why won't god be angry?

Actually that X year theory of Vivek reminded me of something I had seen on Discovery Channel. It seems that the rate at which species are getting extinct today is the same rate prevalant at the time when the Dinosaurs got wiped out.

Ya, It is a known fact that earth crosses a rather dense area of floating debris - the leftover asteroids and rocks after the formation of Earth, venus, mars. Basically earth not only rotates and revolves, it also goes up and down in a vertical orbit. It completes this cycle of vertical revolution every 100Mn years approx. The upper half of the vertical orbit is ridden with plenty of floating rocks ranging between small car sized boulders to some even as big as a city. The chances here are apparently very high for a collition, capable of wiping out all life forms. It just so happens that every 100 Million years there is a mass extinction of species. Remember the jurrasic age! Perhaps Its our turn now.
