How many of you read Jeevi reviews on idlebrain . I feel he is one of the best reviewer I have come accross. He beautifully describes the essence of the movie. Tell about minuses, plusses and then leave it to the reader to decide on how the movie is! IMO a reviewer shouldn't declare if the movie is good or bad right from the word go.

And obviously every movie can't be bad! I have hardly seen any movie getting a good review on Fullhyderabad.

Maybe there is a word limit on the reviews?
Hmmm...

That's a lot of understanding of a business you are not into :). That is indeed a big reason, though we do not say this to denounce all other criticism.

That is unfair, Sandeep. Please check the ratings of movies that became hits, on fullhyd.com. Every Telugu movie that became a hit this year - Athadu, Bhadra, Anukokunda Oka Roju, Chatrapati, Super, Mass, Aparichitudu, A Film By Aravind, Athanokkade, Nuvvosthanante Nevaddantana - had a high rating (>= 2.5/5) on fullhyd.com. These are ratings done on day 1. We were more accurate than just any site. With the exception of Chandramukhi (which the site you referred to too said was below average), we were bang on all through.

Plus, the person who you refer to writes 1,500 word reviews. fullhyd.com is not a site dedicated to Telugu film reviews - it is a local guide. And still we believe we have an even more reliable movie guide, across Telugu, Hindi and English.

Then, the site you refer to uses 3/5 as average, while we use 2/5 as average (our legend is at the bottom of every review).

The fullhyd.com ratings of Telugu hits this year, for the record:

Athadu - 3/5

Bhadra - 3/5

Anukokunda Oka Roju - 4/5

Chatrapati - 3.5/5

Super - 2.5/5

Mass - 3/5

Aparichitudu - 2.5/5

A Film By Aravind - 2.5/5

Athanokkade - 2.5/5

Nuvvosthanante Nevaddantana - 3/5

Chandramukhi - 1.5/5

Like we said, 2.5/5 means above average on fullhyd.com, and therefore watchable. We display that 2/5 is average at the bottom of very review, in the legend.

No mod. Actually your ratings and the description don't quite match.

You might have given 2.5 for a movie but your review doesn't sound as it is an average movie. One of the reasons I feel is, negative points of movie garner more attention than the positive points in your review. May be your intention of 2.5 is average but where does it show in the review, all the focus is on negative points only.

Correction - 2.5 is not average, it is above average, as we said earlier.

In every one of the films above, we talk both about the positives and the negatives. We cannot quote all reviews here, but as an example, in Aparichitudu, we said the only flaw was the logic, where someone kills people just for being lazy. We said a lot of positive things.

In general, the higher the rating, the lesser the number of negative things and the more the number of positive things. That's true of all reviews anywhere.

"All Have To Live!"

Remember Dharma Subrahmanyam ... On The TV ... DD ... The Fellow's The Patient ... Goes To The Doctor ... Pays Fess ... {'Why?' ... "Doctor Has To Live" }... Who Prescribes Medicines ... DS Buys ... {'Why?' ... "Shop Fellow Has To Live" }... Throws Out Medicines ... {'Why?' ... "I Have To Live" }...

Producers Have To Make Movies ... {'Why?' ... "Hero(s), Heroine(s) Others Have To Live" }... Critics Have To Review ...{'Why?' ... "Their Patrons Have To Thrive" }... People Go To Movies ... {'Why?' ... "Their IDOLS Have To Be Adored" }... :P

I too feel that the reviewers on fullhyd concentrate more on the 'hip' language than reviewing the muvi itself....

obvious they are of no use to a muvi buff… since they don’t talk abt plot etc…. Idlebrain is good in that dpt….though I feel they give high rating to muvis than they deserve

but then I also feel that most (mebbe 99.9%) telugu muvis deserve whats written on fullhyd…. by that i mean telugu muvis are pathetic..

I disagree with spamtaneous here. telugu movies are one of the best in India (in terms of entertainment). They dish out what we want.

I am against the concept of making a different movie which craves to the needs of 100 ppl leaving out 1000's of others in the pond.

nowadays comedy in films is usually: 1: someone slapping another

2: someone kicking another in the backside

3. someone rolling eyes and talking in exaggerated accents...

4. someone throwing cakes etc on another...
