Hi.. my fellow hyderabadis..it has been a while since i have started watching the posts/messages on this board..but i thought i should now clear this doubt in my mind ..right now! each educated hyderabadi..is unique in the way he puts up his point? i mean his initiative/expression/attitude stand out from the rest of the crowd...It has 10 long years for me since i was out oh hyderabad..but whenever i come across some hyderabadi..i had recognised even before we had introduced ourselves to each other... Does any one feel different?..i want some frank answers..!!

At least I do. And I detest those who copy or try to acquire a subtle and refined Pakistani/North Indian accent of Aap aaien, aap jaaien, aap khaien...etc.
Apan to pukkay hyderabadi hai bola and am proud of it! HAO, SAMJHE PASHA! NAKKO NA AB, ACTINGA CHODO, CHALO MITTHA PAAN KHAKO AAINGE!

i barely find such gyz here!

welll some things i found in my little interaction with Indians(uv course some of them were hyd\'s too) on the whole at overseas.....(by gods grace i had some other nationalities friends too...ne way)
1.A indian is thoroughly envios especially with the achievements of a fellow indian in the overseas( as they say if i dont achieve no pronbs!!!!but if a fellow indian achieves i can\'t digest it...)
2. If two Indians are in the same dept.......one tries for the dowm fall of the other, when ever possible in a totally unprofessional way
3.at a party in a group of say 4, for ex-if there are two germans n the other two are indians, the germans speak to each other in German, but the indians never speak in there own language....which shows that they feel inferior.....when there is no reason abs or whatsoever to feel so........!!!!!!

n further on... wise girl, when you say some body speaks in british accent be more clear as to what british accent is all about, as not every one visiting this site should probably know it... n also others can understand... an indian will probably say it as Accent (A as in the case of Apple) but a britisher says it as Accent (A as in the case of Aid)...

hey lucifer...i dont agree with u,,,here i guess the germans are making a mistake,,, when u r in a group its manners to talk in a language which all the others can understand,,,, and as far as ur feeling abt the fellow indians is concerned,, it all depends upon u on how u look at things. all the best

I never jump on to quick conclusions, it was my experience which was rather speakin up.......n regarding the party table manners...ya u are partially rite but as i told you it was a party and that is not a business place......at a business place these same Germans would speak in english......so when they are in a party, they feel...ya now we are relieved ,no obligations, we can speak in OUR language now......but Indians NEVER have such attitude.......as they do not live for themselves....and are highly prejudiced

depends with which \"britishers\" u interact with...i suggest you listen to some real english singers( Pink floyd, blacksabaath.....n also interact with some natives over there....i hope u will notice what i said in a very short time.....n w.r.t my enuff, well as long as there is a right consensus-ad-idem, i need\'nt care \'bt the spellings........n finally i dont feel neither me or MCP have any \"chid\" with girls, In reality it is people like us who are more sociable and liked by gals.....but it was rather ur reasoning in the board which made me reply in \"dat\" way.....but i am sure ur cheeks turned \"RED\" by reading my reply.......take it eazeee.....have fun .....cheers!!!

I see merit in what Lucifer is saying. Especially, at work site, I found its easier to work with non-Indians than our own brethern. I guess thats the reason, a lot organizations here have Western Expats as Supervisors to manage a large pool of Indians. Even though a lot of these workers are more qualified than the Western Supervisor. Another irritating thing is groupism among the workers. You will see Kerala Mafia, Mumbai Mafia, Hyderabadi Mafia.....Are we envious of each other and jealos of our compatriots achievements? unfortunatel yes. Its always the case of \"If he has it, why not me??

No Change. Once a Hyderabadi always a Hyderabadi. Atleast I am. And I am proud that I am. I worked in remote places of south Karnataka for a few years. Even today you can find traces of our lingo in the villagers tongues. Because I used to talk to them only in our \"Boli\".
Now I am in Washington DC. Whenever I see a Deshi \"That\'s what we call ourselves here\", I start off in my lovely Hyderabadi Istyle. I have a couple of co-workers here from Pakistan. They love to hear my language. They say that my language has \"Vajan\" (weight) to it. :-). But they ask me what is \"nakko\", but agree that it just fits in to my sentences. :-). I say it is a Hyderabadi stamp. You can recognise a Hyderabadi just by that word. But everybody agrees that Hyderabadis though they look / talk rough are good at heart, Specially Mehmanwazi.
A original Hyderabadi wont change his style.

When I went to a studio for a passport size photos during my early days in States, they could not understand what I was asking for!! My passport sounded like paaasport, whereas the Americans say \'paahsport\' using the same spelling! I wrote it down at one place and it was an instantaneous success! So, unless we pronounce certain words like them we are NOT understood. The choice is ours. It does not have much to do with \'putting on\' the accent ;)
