Err.....not confused but i ended up repeating most of the points that HP saar had made so effectively :?

I don't have the vast experience of watching sport but have keenly followed one or two.And it shall be not entirely incorrect if i say that it was the popularity of sports like Formula 1 & Soccer that attracted me towards them.

and it was only after the foray of Espn & Star Sports and their bitter rivalry(once upon a time) that we got to see the best of sports.but i'm going off the beaten track now.

as far as i've perceived, sport needs icons like Schumacher,Jordan,Tiger & their ilk to raise its popularity to dizzying heights and it equally needs Challengers like Alonso,O'Neal,Singh to sustain that popularity.

And the sustainment of viewer interest can be done effectively by keen challenges & Edge-of-the-seat tussles.

Rain played spoilsport yet again on the third day wth only 45 overs being possible.Hayden & Langer both completed centuries but Langer & Ponting were dismissed, the latter just at the close of play.At stumps,Aus were 277 for 2,96 runs behind England.

now their only hopes of winning the test would be to build a huge lead by fourth day's tea or stumps and then dismiss the englishmen by unleashing Shane Warne on a crumbling 5th days pitch at the oval.IFF,there is no further Rain, that is :?

and if at all there is rain and plenty of it,Aussies can Kiss their chances or retaining the ashes Goodbye......

THE ASHES ARE HOME

by SACHIN TENDULKAR GOD OF INDIA » Tue Sep 13, 2005 12:18 am

Finally the English had bought the Ashes home..................

One of the most fascinating series ever seen in the cricketing history and England's win symbolises tat Aussies are def beatable.... Grt performance by Freddie Flintoff the rest of the team rallied arnd him and played their respective parts prtty well to rout the aussies.

Most influential performance in a test series I have ever seen in my life FREDDIE keep goin man u r sure to scale grt heights.

Comin to the aussies ppl say hayden, martyn, gilly are out of form god forbid englishmen bowled really well to thm and dint allow thm to get away gilly was marked in all of his innings.... hayden tooo was worked on a plan.... it wld hav been diff for them even if they were in form to take the attack to this english attack.... comin to the bowlin dept lee was ok warne was awesome no words for him.... mcgrath was ordinary except the lords test.... gillespie was never allowed to settle in englishmen attacked him frm the word go.... if your battin is not grt evn a ordinary bowler can be made to look grt but on this instance a grt bowler was lookin like a below avg one kudos to the english openers esp and not to forget their strong middle order.

To sum it up was a wonderful summer for the english....

Pieterson was touted to be the next biggest thin in english cricket and dint he live up to the expectationssss. a match winnin 91 to start of the summer in the natwest series and then a ASHES winning ( match savin) 158 to end the summer.

Interestin to see if eng can repeat the same performance in the comin months.....

Though disheartened by the Aussies losing the Ashes, I am in all praise for the Englishmen. What an amazin performance that was by the Englishen. Andrew Flintoff rips thru the Aussie batting lineup and Pietersen belts Aussie bolwers. I think this was the best ever sensible innings played by any debutant. Finally England regains the Ashes after a long wait of 16yrs. Congrats Michael Vaughan !!!!!

Anyone care (or are aware for that matter) about the test match being played between India and Zimbabwe?

Whats the score?
Things are supposed to happen the way they happen. And the reason they happen the way the happen is because you try to make them happen in a certain way and may or may not be succesful.

Zim is 221/7. That they survived a full day should be a minor victory is itself for Zim and an embarassment for India.

If I had tickets to the ashes and the test match b/w india and zim no guessing which one wld I hav opted for.... indians are playin poor cricket at the moment.... it not the same team tat was second only to the aussies an year bak.... I think this Indian team needs a little push I thought Chappell wld be able to do tat but not till now.... I think only one man can influence the Indian team now

SACHIN RAMESH TENDULKAR India needs him desperately....
