Indian names for Chinese twin girls

by lonewolf » Mon Aug 22, 2005 12:15 am

My friend's sister gave birth to twin girls and she wants to know Indian names for twin girls. She doesn't want names ending in an A.

Please post all interesting twin names not ending in an A. Thanks :)

Thanks, but she thinks they are too Japanese.. (more than 2 syllables) :)

She'd prefer 1 or 2 syllable names.

Those names sound nice, but my friend said that Rimi sounds like Rim Me and that kids will make fun of that name. Evidently, those also have a meaning in Chinese.

Simi in Chinese means "dead addiction"; it also has many other meanings depending on what characters you use.

She's come up with a list of names herself, but her sister and American brother-in-law don't seem to like her choices.

Thanks Xeno :D

Xeno, BrownBoy, DQ, akidna and spamtaneous:

Thanks for all of your wonderful suggestions :D

Unfortunately half the names have sinister meanings in Chinese, and some sound Japanese (my friend hates Japs) and she can't pronounce the others!

Also, her sister and brother-in-law do not like the names that my friend has found on the web. Right now, her sister and brother-in-law are having their own fight on what to name the babies.

My friend is Chinese of Korean origin, and is a direct descendant of the Li dynasty in Korea. Obviously her sister plans to include "Li" as part of the surname for the babies. I'll wait and see what they name the babies on Tuesday, a mix of Chinese, Korean, English probably, and maybe Indian. :P

She doesn't want names ending in -A maybe because they sound Japanese.

Remember:

Chinese hate Japanese

Koreans hate Japanese

My friend is a Korean who was born and brought up in China, so she has double the rage against Japs. :P

She'll be leaving for California in a few hours time.

I'll post pictures of the babies when they were still chromosomes. :D
