When you first posted that ramayana = porno thing, I immediately knew where you were quoting from. This site has all the guidelines how to deal with hindus eh? Nice. I always knew you are not intelligent/capable/educated enough of commenting on 'religion', be it your religion or other religions and you need a hand book to deal with people. But then, everything you do is derived from a book, so no big surprise there.

2. If you cannot substantiate the claims, and you dont want to read hindu scriptures which you are quoting, then is it prudent to comment on them?



3. Every hindu has his own opinion and understanding of religion and the scriptures. There is no hard and stead fast rule which is why you have so many gods and so many sects. Hinduism may not confirm to the notions of other religions and may be quite liberal. It doesnt proscribe a 'code of conduct' on the followers unlike other religions. So the said person, if indeed he is hindu (what does it take me to post here under a muslim name?), he is welcome to have his opinion. He will still be a hindu and no one will declare a fatwa on him and kill him just because his opinions are contrary to the major beliefs.



4. Most of the hindu beliefs may and scriptues may seem to be contradicting your 'moral beliefs' but not to me, just like your beliefs are contradicting mine.



5. If the concept of worshipping female form in hindu scriptures and the veneration of female beauty is revolting to you, then so is your concept of women having to wear abhayas so that their sons, brothers dont have orgasms is equally revolting to me. We are at two extremes. You can only appreciate/follow/understand such concepts if you were born and raised with the religion or follow it. To each his/her own.

- I have seen my own friends getting drunk and peeing on images of Gods, who the next day they bow their heads and are ready to lay their lifes for.



- Not only lay their lives ready to take others life like (Graham Staines)



- I have heard friends wait for occassions like Navratri / Holi so that they can indulge/flirt with others wifes / sisters / mothers.



- To my horror I heard the "weekly poojary" who used to visit our office talk about (wether concoted or true) having an "sexual relationship" with the Business owners wife. I dare not report it he was so reverred that business on friday could not proceed until he has performed Pooja and blessed the SAFE. I stopped wishing him after noticing the utter callousness with which he narrated his stories.



I am not trying to slander, there are more real life examples. I just wanted to find out is this what is meant as acceptable and liberal

being liberal and acceptable means to keep the windows open for new ideas to flow in and old ones to blow out (as Gandhi quoted) as time changes. if a hindu has to follow strictly what was written thousands of years ago, hindu women cudnt even go out and work. their place is suppossed to be at home. hindu widows could not remarry as they are allowed to do now. and many more.
