dear hyd\'BAD\'ies,
Execuse me for saying so....i have my own resons...
two days back i got a chance to go to a FASHION SHOW at a FAMOUS PUB ..not for the sole purpose of boozing. but to get a glimpse of the elite world.. to my surprise i got a 70mm view rather than a mere glimpse..
this being my first time to a pub.. and that too to a very high pitched activity pub i was stunned to see every thing around me. For a momentary first 1 hr i had a great time bird watching..when the foriegn gals were smoking, i wasnt surprised...
and when the activity began i.e. the fashion show .. every thing kicked off.. then the unexpected,,, even our own hydbadie gals started smoking.. what seems like a fantasy 1 hr earlier seemed uncultured,,.. started to get a feeling of being an alien among them..
heres what buzzing me still... is the culture that we are heading to is a better one than the one our elders lived in.. or am i missing the ways to enjoi the life to a fulll..
is the fault lies in my outlook or with them.
can anyone please pull me out of this .....

hey,
its got nothing to d with how ur outlook is.nor is our culture going anywhere....it defeninetly isn\'t abut living life to the fullest...so u must be wondering where i am going with this..........well i am trying to say is...its the outlook that girls are smoking!!!!that should not be ur concern...girls and guys anyone smoking ....SHOULD NOT...for it causes cancer.....they say cigarette has contents similar to rat-poison.rest is left to the indivisual\'s concerns for their own health and those other them.....yes times have changed and so have people and yes,girls too...they probably see it as \'living life\'.but that is just a tragic view of the whole scenario.

hey. its not of smoking cigars alone. there are many more things..like. the dress they are wearing.. and the way she moves around with other males..and the way other males respond to her...boozing irrespective of the sex.... i just could not take it.... and am not a misogynist for sure.. i just fancied abt that sort of world... and when i had a confrontation with it,it was uchenuf for me..

shruti, living life to the fullest surely doesn\'t means leavinng out tradition and culture to dogs.Inspite of being a girl I am slightly surprised to her such a thing from you.I am equally shocked to hear that girls from my native place have started smoking.I was so proud of hyderabadi girls till now , but now our image has been destroyed completely.

these days such dress codes and behaviour are considered to be highly sophisticated way of living.the more modern you are , the more you will be liked by guys.nobody would like a traditional and decent girls these days. girls feel proud that they have become like that , they consider themelves to be equla with men in all areas, so why leave out smoking and drinking?

People consider smoking mainly bcos of peer pressure, acceptance by peers or friends and momentary
relief from stress. What they fail to understand is the detrimental affects smoking has on the
central nervous system, which might affect the way people think. Don\'t bring culture into this discussion just bcos some individuals are doing things, which were not quite common in
the Indian society for a long time. It just shows how irresponsible these ppl are towards themselves. Smoking once in a while, just for fun and just to try new things is alright i think but getting addicted to it and doing it just to belong to a hip crowd or to fit in is not smart. Meghana, image of girls is not destroyed bcos of a handful of females. A guy or a girl still
demands the same respect if he/she lives up to it. It\'s more like a personality thing u know. Peace out!!

hey guys cool down, i do not see anything wrong in girls smoking, when as a male we can smoke and no one raises an objection,why should we.Let everyone do what pleases them. When we can wear and do things in our way why can\'t the gilrs do it.

Hi, shruthi what you say i correct .whether its a guy or a gurl both of them are not supposed to smoke ..but gurls need to be more cultured and civilised than guys who are normally addicted to such kind of things..so won\'t u think that its gurls that need to be more controlled than guys ?? any elder person would be astonished to see a gurl smoking rather than a guy !!!! anyhow this is my view...

Its a result of globalization. Its common in many countries such as U.K, Japan and US. However, I hope we embrace Japanese culture more than US culture.
