30th ko india vs SL hai...Dambulla mein...D/N hai shaayad...

I think Laxman is being tipped to open the innings

He being such a gud player of spin shud be playing in the middle order n maybe yuvraj pushed to the top if not Dhoni.. Strange are the ways...........

Laxman opening is going to be an experiment...lets hope he does a good job. Neways he is in better form than yuvraj singh...if yuvi fails then laxy shd. take his place.

Laxman has opened for India in few previous ocassions ..he's not tht good at it and has said himself tht he dznt feel comfortable openin.. Yuvraj is not a steady player either he might stick around for a while..or go back pretty soon..

The prob is the Indian team keepz experimenting with the openin pairs...so no one actually sticks around long enough to get used 2 the position n show their potential.

Sachin says Laxman is the best bet for the openin slot. Laxman does not have an aggressive batting style and he might not be the right guy to come later in the innings and force the pace whereas yuvi is the middle order guy who is perfect finishin an innings. Laxman can use the pace on the new ball to help himself and I see no reason why he cant do well!!!!

koi bhi hoon but Lax will do gud in the tri series new ball in Lanka is def better than facin murali and co in the middle of the innings and the WI have a new ball attack with some serious pace so again points for Lax....

she has to look for a sponsor pronto or else she cannot play in that tournament.

Laxman has opened for india and has failed badly. But he has agreed to open again and when he opened the batting in the practice matches against the rahul dravid 11 in bangalore he scored well in both the games.

I just hope he does a good job. He is a terrific batsman and just needs to spend some time in the middle to get going.

I havent come across an article on web regarding laxman's bowling plans

But as far as his batting goes i think atleast for this series in SL on those slow pitches against a possible 4 pronged spin attack, Laxman must play in the middle order. He is a free flowing batsman again spinners as opposed to someone like Yuvraj...Yuvraj has failed against quality spin on slow pitches time n again.

IMO the only situation when laxman might struggle is with the powerplays in the middle overs (if big hitting is required).
