From my very limited knowledge of the place, this also appears to be near the Cinema Paradiso (I know where that is located - have seen their name).

Does Fribzi have a lot of Hindi movie VCD's? How much is the typical rental charge & how long do they let you keep the movie?

i am a member of fribzi in secunderabad and they have a good collection of hindi, english, telugu n tamil movies. the rates depend on the movie, and is usually calculated per day for new films. i dont expect the banjara hills fribzi to be much different.

Thank you for your replies.

I am going to be buying a DVD Player which I am going to use both for

DVD's & VCD's. Any reco's on the brands to buy & the brands to avoid?

Any brands which have problems with local VCD's or home-burnt VCD's?

Someone told me Samsung & Onida DVD Players are the best for playing local VCD's - other brands jump & freeze sometimes with local VCD's.

Is this true?

i have a new model Phillips 5.1 DVD player and it seems to play anything thrown at it. i chose that particular model coz it is compatible with the new MP4 format, apart from the usual jumble of acronyms u find printed on every player's carton.

a tip: if u r planning to go for a home theater also, opt for a 5.1 DVD player. choose a 2.1 player only if u want to use the TV speakers for sound output.
