know some reliable mover - I want to move a 300 Litre Refridgerator,

a 25" Television & a Computer table.



Anyone know what sort of rates movers charge for moving & packing?

Hiring a ful truck costs about 7000/- Rs, but you do not have that much to move.



Don't know about Mumbai, but as far as Hyd-Nagpur runs are concerned, Sabharwal Travels are the best. They run a lot of luxury buses, and charge a very niminal amount to transport cargo. You can contact their office in Koti, behind Big Bazar and find out whether they make Hyd-Mum runs also.

What about packing it & making sure it reaches in good condition?

i.e. does anything have to be done to a fridge (i.e. some padding etc)

to make sure it doesn't hit against the truck walls & gets spoiled?

The packing is totally your responsibility. You have to make sure it is packed properly and placed at an appropriate place in the Buses' carrraige otherwise it may get damaged. They do not take any responisbilty.

Refrigerator packing are done by the company technical persons itself.



For example Whirlpool company dealers help the customers for packing.



They send their technical representatives who charges Rs200/- for packing.



Over and above you should make woodden crate for covering the Refrigerator.



this is a headache.



you have to to buy the waste wood (paththa)available at Glass stores.



then you should hire a carpenter.



In City finding a carpenter may be little bit difficult.



but dont loose heart.



The waste wood may cost around 250-300 Rupees.



The carpenter may charge 250-300/-



Then for nails and other materials you may spend Rs100/-



Totally for making a crate you may have to spend Rs 700/-



With company packing and Crate covering your Refrigerator will be 100% safe



For televisin also you can make wooden crate

If you are moving frequently there is no harm is ordering tailor made steel trunks for taking your tv combined with some voltage stabilizer, tape recorder, etc.

I think they charge very heavily for this.



Please contact your Refrigerator company.



They have their own technicians.



If you tell the model they will bring the pith material, special threads, covering cardboards etc.



They will charge about Rs200/- to - Rs 250/-



I think this is enough.



After this you can contact the transport companys.



They will take your Luggage as Part Load.
