What does "Ne" mean? Seriously - I didn't understand your reply.

My wife is currently unemployed - she plans to work later.

Can she get a PAN Number now? Or does she have to wait till she

starts working?

ne one = Anyone

If she is earning money, and is paying taxes, she is eligible to get a PAN number. Maybe you can open a dummy company and show her as a paid emloyee or CEO or whtever. She wil thus be eligible for a PAN.

Me does have a PAN number and a PAN card. It has a lot of benefits and can be used in many places for identification (instad of Voters card or ration card).
