on topic..

yesterday I watched starwars alone. And feeling pretty bad about it. Lots of my friends wanted to go to the movie, and that bloody thing isnt there anywhere but prasadz. We faced disappointment with tichets for two bloody times because the entire population in Hyderabad gathers in prasadz every sunday for one group orgy ! So yesterday I became the traitor and went alone to the movie coz I happened to be around. Now everyone is plotting murder and rape on me, which is sad becoz I didnt like the movie too !!

I didn't go 4 a movie, but went and sat alone in Coffee Day, a couple of times in Mumbai

I don't think it's sad to watch movies or go to shopping alone, but really I wudn't wanna do it.Shopping because I like to have somebody in their right mind who can remind me what not to buy( like I bought a yellow salwar kameez once when I was on a bit of a spree :)...it's so yuck..)

Movies...I talk quite a bit when the movie is on, and obviously I can't do all the talking to a stranger :) .Guess I'd get all bored if I'd go to a movie alone.

So, where were we?

Well, for all my faults, I am not a Sicilian who cannot forgive and who cannot forget. All is well now, San. :)

No hard feelings, infact no feelings at all :)

And people, please do read the thread carefully, it is no longer considered sad when people go to the cinema on their own. Bless Luci.

Hey San,

at times people might do things alone & actually kindo' enjoy the feeling of sadness & loneliness?..quite possible as we all have streaks of self-pity and some times revel in it - only that some do it more often than others, and that decides who's positive or who's dogmatic..

when I go on a tour and roam some desolate industrial area in a rick or a cab.... or for that matter while eating my dal roti on a highway dhaaba, I invariably start humming (in my head) songs like 'musaafir hoon yaaron' 'akela hoon main', 'main jindgi ka saath nibhaata chalagaya' etc.... strangely enough these yearnings sustain me & my spirit thro' the long and tough tour......

So what if you go to a movie, turn sometime later to the person sitting next to you wanting to share a joke or a comment & then realize that you came all alone...

grin, sigh & aahe bharo! - life's a ghazal that very moment...
Dil pe mat le yaar....

Sad People ... Sad Poetry

AN EPITAPH

Here lies a most beautiful lady,
Light of step and heart was she:
I think she was the most beautiful lady
That ever was in the West Country.
But beauty vanishes; beauty passes;
However rare, rare it be;
And when I crumble who shall remember
This lady of the West Country?

Again, that depends on the kind of concert there is. If it is a Pt. Ravishankar or a Shubha Mudgal concert, then I don't expect to find company all that easily. Besides, such concerts are meant to be enjoyed alone. Even if you went with someone, you have to be nuts to be talking during the show. So you might as well have gone alone.

But if it is a rock show then I think it is sad. And, if it is a show of someone of the likes of Aasma or Juggy D or any of these psuedo Indi popstars (to me, Indi pop died with the likes of Baba Sehgal, Sunita Rao, and the rest) then whether you have company or not, it is still sad to go there. :D

SAD

by VJ » Tue Jul 25, 2006 12:09 pm

I go to movies alone these days. Not only to movies I live alone in my room, eat alone, and do all my things alone. Sometimes I get very bored, Sometimes I feel happy for myself that I'm not with a bad company, Sometimes I get frustated thinking about the life I'm living, Sometimes I go for a ride on my bike with no real destination in my mind, etc ..

Yeah I'm sad at times, but I'm happy alone. :wink:

I booze alone. I go to Pubs and Bars and drink all alone. It gives me so much to think Only about myself, so much to comment so, much to argue about the ups and downs of my life.

Its a fun in its own way.

I know most of you will not agree with me, however, try doing it atleast once.

And i am not sad about it.

Infact i don't like crowd, i like to live life all by myself.
