by CtrlAltDel » Tue May 31, 2005 5:43 pm

yes...its seems to be true!

while browsing idly thru the www (at work ), i came across the script for the forthcoming Rambo IV: Holy War....

Hritik is slated to act as his adopted Afghan son (remember the boy in Rambo 3) who now rejoins a terror group to attack the UN building :?

...and whats more: Amithab Bachchan is the UN Secretary General!!!!!!!!

...and Rambo is now working for UNO..... (Die Hard anybody? ;) )

read the script for yrself!!!!!

i wish this is no hoax......the script is damn convincing!
wtf? i no longer care if my posts hurt yr feelings

Yeeesh!!!!!! What a Pathetic Hoax Man   :? :? :?

IMHO,All this is Jus' Pure Bunkum.A High-Profile Movie Franchise Like Rambo won't go to the extent of having relatively newcomers in important roles and that too Non-Hollywoodesque actors like BigB & TikTik......

I guess all this is the work of some bored Couchie having nothing better to do

Errr......I Think I Spoke Too Soon..........

Acclaimed Indian film actor, Amitabh Bachchan, who had the role of UN Secretary-General Amit Talian in "Holy War" written specially for him, was appointed UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in New York in April 2005. "I feel greatly honoured that UNICEF has chosen me to be a Goodwill Ambassador, and to be able to propagate the issues that UNICEF is associated with, in India and elsewhere," said Mr. Bachchan. Nu Image is also scouting for film locations for Rambo IV in Mumbai and Nagpur, further enhancing speculation that Indian film actor, Hrithik Roshan, will assume the role of Rambo's Afghani-American step-son, Hamid, as intended in the "Holy War" treatment.

Yup! :)

God save us! Actually, if it had to be an Indian actor, AB and Hritik are better at doing a hollywood role than most anyone in Bollywood.

The say they are searching for locations in Nagpur! I should start practicing my 360 Kicks then :P *Hollywood dreams*

Agreed that they're Good Actors But they're Too "Mass-Oriented" but not Classy Enough.AB Was Superb in Black but Hrithik ain't an Actor's Actor.
This Role looks pretty close to his earlier ones in Fiza & Mission Kashmir and in Both,he was Grossly Misfit. If I'd have been the casting Director,I'd Definitely have him removed!!!!

Hrithik, conspicuously absent from the Bollywood rat race over recent months, and staying away from media glare might just do a Mallika Sherawat and make our eyes pop open in stunned surprise!

I am trying hard, but me does not seem to have any luck in getting the fancy kicks down. Especially when it comes to spinning and jumping kicks :(. well, practice makes perfect

Anyway, they might just settle for a true-blue MArtist 8) and select me :D.

The specs would be the USP, akhil :P.

Hritik and AB are talented and dedicated actors. They may lack the out and out talent of someone like Dilip Kumar or whoever, but you can atleast count on them to be punctual, and will work hard. If anyone were to choose the best representatives of Indian cinema, these two would be among them. They would anyway be leagues ahead of idiots like Mallika Sherawat. Now why did the Cannes people select her?

The Cannes people did not select her, Jackie Chan did. She was there for her movie promotion.

I am sure they will, and there's no eye-rolling about it. It is just that we seem to tend to underestimate bollywood talent as compared to hollywood...

Well, I never thought I'll do this, i.e. speak up for Mallika of all people...but from whatever I have read about her and also through the three columns that she wrote in Hyderabad Times about her stay in cannes, Mallika is definitely not an indiot. She has just chosen which part of the audience she wants to appeal to, and she sticks to taht formula, it is actually a well thought out strategy.

She pretends to be slightly stupid, because she knows how to market herself...all she wants are guys drololing over her...er..assets  and not get distracted or threatened by her intellect. She is actually pretty well-read, and can act ok, so maybe we should give her due credit for her role in that Jackie Chan's movie...and also for disproving the fact that all Indian heroines are either prudes like Ash or Intellectual like Nandita and other Art-movie heroines...

exactly :x

for instance, ppl like Amithab, Naseerudin Shah, Om Puri, Kamalhaasan and Ajay Devgan are much better 'actors' compared to 'global superstars' like Bruce Willis, Stallone, Schwarzenegger or Tom Cruise. just coz they are 'Hollywood' stars, ppl tend to consider them superior.

if Asian non-actors like Jackie Chan and Jet Li can become global stars thnx to their martial arts, why not real 'actors' from India. they just need a decent role in Hollywood.

if anyone has seen Mallika in an old episode of Big Fight on NDTV, it wud be clear how articulate and intelligent she is. the debate was on "obscenity" in films.

Mallika had a BJP politician, a social worker opposing her and a neutral journalist passing wiseass comments.

the way she took them on and put her points forward was amazing. the other 2 opposing her were forced to turn defensive and could not answer most of her questions. they turned to making allegations and lame statements on culture. she remained calm and smiling thru out.

...compare that with Aish giggling like an idiot in interviews, esp the Oprah show :x
