So that I can open an account in a bank where I don't have to go searching for ATM machines. There are some banks which have hardly 1 or 2 ATMS in the whole city.

no Akhil, ICICI has the most ATMs, followed by HDFC. infact ICICI has India's largest ATM network.

most foreign banks may have less ATMs, but their customers can use the ATMs of certain other banks at no extra charge.

No CAD bhai!

AB rules when it comes to ATMs...just check out the no. of ATMs its website lists

http://www.andhrabank-india.com/english/atmlocations.asp

ICICI website lists abt. 70 ATMs :D

HDFC is no where near either of them... :(

Maybe but the Location of ATM's Leaves a Lot to be Desired.......

I Think Nowadays, all the Banks have Tie-ups with all other banks so that One can Withdraw money from any ATM.

Some of them Charge a Fee Though.....& Some have a Scheme like "First 10 Transactions Free" Etc.

ING Vysya has a Very Good Scheme Where One Can Withdraw money from ANY Cirrus/Visa ATM anywhere in India at No Cost at all.In Hyd I Found Only OBC's ATM Not accepting ING Card.

here u r combining the entire State Bank group comprising of abt 10-12 banks. (SBI, SBH, SBM etc etc). and most of these banks have ATMs attached to a branch and for many of them, the customers of only that branch can use the ATM - its not on a centralized network

thats not yet possible on all the ATMs of the SBI subsidiaries...

last yr in one of the ICICI ATMs in Mumbai, the guys loaded 500s instead of 100 notes...and the machine began dispensing 500s in place of 100s and accounting it as 100. it went on for a day till an honest customer warned the bank. the bank spent a week tracing each transaction that day, contacting the customers and recovering the money

Yes,

All ATMs OF GOVT BANKS are useless.

For Me ICICI and HDFC ATMs, are giving excellent service.

I am using HDFC ATM since the year 2001.

I NEVER HAD PROBLEM. NOT EVEN ONCE in the last 4 years.

Most of the banks enable u to withdraw cash almost immediately after it gets deposited...Go for ICICI, HDFC or SBI.

What kind of ATM Card does Andhra Bank issue?

Do they issue plain ATM Cards (i.e. one without VISA Electron or Master Electronic)? Or do they force one of those on you like ICICI?
