Bhel Puri etc

Looking for Authentic Bombay style Bhel Puri places in Hyderabad. Tried

Keshava Reddy but they seem to add Cucumber, Carrots etc in the Bhel.



I am sure this very cosmopolitan city would have some Bombay style

places.

or "Gangotree" at Qahwa, jubilee hills rd#36

..or the food court @hydbad central mall



i dunno how far these will carry "authentic bombay flavor", but they're good enuf. if u want real local flavor try any crowded chaat bandi

Do they add Cucumber & Carrot to the Bhel?

That's my main grouse with the other Hyderabad Chat places I have

tried - I always forget to tell them not to add it - it will take me more time

to fall into the habit of giving these special instructions & at some places

they cannot follow these instructions because they pre-mix onions with

the carrots.

There's one guy who makes some good stuff diagonally opposite 'Nanking', a chinese restaurant in Sec-bad. The area is called Parklane. The bhel there is the best I've eaten in Hyd-Secbad.



Apparently Gokul in Abids is good too.

There is a wonderful chat place around Jubilee checkpost, on the lane beside the petrol pump.

The chat there is almost like that in Mumbai, though he might be a little generous in adding chilly powder if you don't stop him...

Well, i have to say that when it comes to Bhel puri hyd. lags behind...although there are plenty of places for other chat items. If u want to eat really good ragda, dahi wada then u have to go towards begum bazaar, theres this chat wala in the lane left to the mosque (which is bang in the middle of the road!). Apart from that theres this guy whos been selling ragda for ages now near abids GPO.

most of there preperations are very good and theres a long list too, lekin mirchi mein soda zara zyada milata aajkal .

remmeber that in hydbad, "chaat items" are hot n spicy, unless u specify otherwise.



Gokul is good. and in secunderabad, u get the chaat bandis (push carts) at the entrance to park lane or at "Radheyshyam" in Ranigunj. there is also a couple of famous joints in PG Road, behind Paradise restaurant.



dunno abt cucumbers...never noticed...

Do you know the name of the place - since I am new here it will be very difficult for me to search out a place without knowing it's name.

It is not a shop, it is one of those 'thelas' or as CAD puts it 'bandis'.

When you reach Jubilee checkpost, there is a petrol pump at the left corner of the road leading towards HITEC city. When you enter the pertrol pump, there's a lane on the left at the start of whcih are these two thelas belonging to the same man, one selling pao-bhaji and the other selling bhelpuri, sevpuri, etc.



However the paani poori is not that great. If you want paani poori, you shd come to Dharam Karam road in Ameerpet opposite to food world
