Without major spoilers, can somebody tell me whether a SW newbie can watch it or not.

Me is taking quite a bit of chance and am persuading tmy whole karate class of about 30 guys n gals to watch it. If it is a tragedy, or dull or anything, me will be in hock...

The only things which matter are:

Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan-Kenobi are close friends.Master and student relationship.

AS is illegally married to Padme and she is carrying his children.

Yoda(The green guy) is the master of all Jedis.

Mace Windu is second in comand in the Jedi Council.

Supreme Chancellor Palpatine is the leader of the republics.

Jedis main enemy are the Sith.Sith's plan to destroy the Jedi.Darth Sidious is the leader of the Sith's.And there is war between Sith's and Jedi's.

Not the best Star Wars (I would still rate The Empire Strikes Back, and The Return of the Jedi the best), but being the last it did what others could not - leave me with a feeling of supreme wow.
So can you rate the SW movies in order of preference?Oh and I heard that there is a BIG twist in the end,and I think its about Darth Sidious/Palpatine,can you tell me what the twist is? :D

YOu can watch SW Episode III even if you havent seen the previous 5 episodes. A newbie may not appreciate the first 10 min or so of the movie, but from then on its an absorbing tale.
May the Fries be with you!

First of all, no Star Wars fan would ever reveal anything about Star Wars to anyone who has not seen it. It is just now done.

My rankings:

1. The Empire Strikes Back

2. The Return of the Jedi

3. Revenge of the Sith

4. A New Hope

5. Attack of the Clones

6. The Phantom Menace

My fav dialogue in the movie was General Kenobi's (i like the ring in that name) last words to Anakin.

My other fav dialogue is from the semi hindi version (only the "important" dialogues were in hindi) which I had the fortune of seeing. It goes something like this........."Divyashakti tumhare saath ho" .....this is the hindi version of "may the Force be with you"

Wats frustrating about this is that Star Wars never had the concept of God and DivyaShakti means a heavenly power.....totally kills the whole point of the Force.

I've seen the movie thrice and I dont remember the following dialogue ....does anyone remember?

General Grievous: [Mace Windu has parried Grievous' first surprise attack] Quite skilled. Allow me to introduce myself: I am the silencing machine. Lay down your life now and I promise you a painless death. Your weak force powers mean nothing to me. I have but one mission: to destroy!

Mace Windu: Oh, I do not think so.
