Happy Day, Mother Earth
Light-years beyond the clouds, beyond the oblivion,
Amidst the dark silence of void and space, far away,
Immeasurably remote, there, beyond the Milky Way,
Young new stars, being born in the marvel of creation.
Is it not the Horsehead nebula, over yonder?
In its glory, full of color and exploding life.
Is it the Crab nebula, in tumultuous strife?
In the glorious celestial nursery of wonder.
Billions of years of creation and destruction in the universe
Billions of stars and galaxies floating in the stardust
Yet, on Earth abounds - life and death, decay and rust,
Much malevolence and virtue, some good and some perverse,
Here are creatures; primates, humans, and gods,
Nowhere else, but only in this elite planet Earth,
Gifted to us by the gods, for life, verve, and birth.
As the human saga unfolds, Brahma sits and nods.
Here on earth, from the cradle to the grave,
There is sorrow, from the first cry of the newborn,
Until the final episode, and journey into the unknown,
The final fate, of the timid as well as the brave.
Squander this opportunity given to us, so glorious,
By the ‘big bang’ or by Brahma, that doyen of creators?
Verdant lands, placid oceans, docile creatures, and predators.
A turquoise planet amidst cosmic dust, so amorphous.
A gift of the gods, to be received with gratitude,
But, our courage is lacking, and morality has ebbed.
An irreverence to mother Earth, much neglected,
Ravaging and polluting, and with acts of moral turpitude.
Our time here may be limited, and our virtues are few,
Yet, for us, there’s time to love, respect and care,
Time enough to be forthright, be kind, and to share,
With aptitude for change, there’s time enough to start anew.
Kudos to Mother Earth, mother of all mothers, on this happy mother’s day.
Our gratitude to you, for your benevolence, patience, and tolerance,
For your understanding, compassion, resiliency and forbearance.
We promise not to defile you, or pollute, if you can please show us the way.

Happy Monday
Yesterday ... we were shopping ... and saw an entire window filled with "Sunshine Buddies"*. We were mesmerized by the simple design and perpetual motion of it's head. You see, they need sunshine to work (even if it is foggy or cloudy, it still works) and the head just moves back and forth, side to side, with a giant, happy smile on it's face.
Seriously, the world needs a few of these right now. We bought two. And throughout yesterday and this morning, whenever I looked over at the Sunshine Buddy, he was happily nodding his little head. Happy about anything and everything. It made me smile too.
I took a short video of this little guy^, nodding his head for you to enjoy. Hopefully you too will smile and be happy. Now, it's on to a crazy work week, filled with presentations, design reviews, more presentations, loads of thinking and a few baseball games.

Nana Ellen's Cottage Filled With Laughter And Fun
At last!
There's a place in the world
where you can
leave your cares behind for awhile.
the cottage at nanaellencom
is a virtual visit to Grandmother's house! Here you'll find peace and rest for your soul.
Nana Ellen lives down the lane, in a little old cottage the color of rain. It's cozy inside, and often smells of cookies or warm apple pie. Use your imagination.. that's what we're all about.
We want the time you spend with us to comfort your soul and bring a nostalgic smile to your heart.
People will forget what you said.
People will forget what you did.
But they will never forget how
you made them feel.
author unknown
Things may be simple, quaint and more than a little old-fashioned here, but it's a peaceful, relaxing place to be. Children, young and old, almost always find special treasures or mysterious odds and ends to take back home with them. After all, everyone's the same age inside! Right? The stuff at Nana's brings back warm memories of the hodgepodge of hugs, cookies and wonders from your very own grandmother's house. But, in case you had no such place to visit, well... we think it's about time you have one. Drop in every day – stay as long as you like.
To really have the most fun at Nana's you have to poke through each room... touching everything, exploring like a child. You never know what you might find! So... pick out a room and come on in.
Our cottage is filled with laughter and fun.
Our cottage, is also filled with music - primarily the music of the late 1800's through the 1920's - the music Nana grew up singing, dancing, and listening to. There is a favorite theme song for each page. You can hear them by clicking on the little keyboard.

Fine Friday ... the Band!
... imagine the sweetest, the merriest and the mellowest of memories distilled into an integrated partnership of fiddle, flute, whistles, guitar and vocals: that's Fine Friday the band.
Bringing together three young but seasoned leading lights of Edinburgh's renowned contemporary roots scene, FINE FRIDAY emerged organically from a longstanding - and still-running - weekly session at Sandy Bell's, the city's most famous folk pub. The band proper was born in late 2000, after Orcadian guitarist and singer Kris Drever began sitting in with regular co-hosts Nuala Kennedy, from Dundalk, on flute and whistles, and Edinburgh-born fiddler Anna-Wendy Stevenson.

Known world-wide as simply "the Santa Fe," the Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railway came into its namesake city in 1880.
The 120 year-old spur from Lamy to Santa Fe, the vintage railcars, and the charming California mission-style depot at 410 S. Guadalupe St., combine to make a charming slice of history. Every year, tens of thousands of visitors come to see, photograph and paint the old Santa Fe Depot and ride the train along the original high-desert route that carried early tourist adventurers, settlers, artists and scientists into the city.

For many visitors, the railway is the only thing they know about Santa Fe before they come here: they hum the 40's swing song "The Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe," and they point excitedly to the familiar Santa Fe herald, the blue cross in the circle.
Since 1992, this rail line continues as the Santa Fe Southern Railway, a piece of living history - still carrying passengers through the high-desert beauty which is our home, and still carrying freight to serve the community. Like the Plaza, the Santa Fe Southern Railway, with its terminus at the old Santa Fe Depot, is an authentic, irreplaceable link to our City's colorful past.
When you come to ride the Santa Fe Southern, you'll enjoy visiting the historic depot and gift shop where you'll find many books about the railroad and its history as well as t-shirts, toys, posters, train sets and memorabilia
* This delightful short train runs March through October. (It will not run in December, January or February. Check the schedule, however, for some great Sunday holiday trains in December.) It departs at 2:00 PM and travels down to the rim of the Galisteo Basin for a wide view from this interesting geologic uplift. Snacks, hot and cold drinks, as well as stronger stuff is available at our cash bar. Returns to Santa Fe at 4:30 PM.

QUOTE : "Loved being on the train--brought back memories of childhood when I traveled by train on vacations.
Great ride! The kids had so much fun--especially on the flat car.
Really a delightful way to spend the day. Beautiful scenery and length of trip was perfect."

EASY ....... DIFFICULT
Easy is to get a place is someone's address book.
Difficult is to get a place in someone's heart.
Easy is to judge the mistakes of others
Difficult is to recognize our own mistakes
Easy is to talk without thinking
Difficult is to refrain the tongue
Easy is to hurt someone who loves us.
Difficult is to heal the wound...
Easy is to forgive others
Difficult is to ask for forgiveness
Easy is to set rules.
Difficult is to follow them...
Easy is to dream every night.
Difficult is to fight for a dream...
Easy is to show victory.
Difficult is to assume defeat with dignity...
Easy is to admire a full moon.
Difficult to see the other side...
Easy is to stumble with a stone.
Difficult is to get up...
Easy is to enjoy life every day.
Difficult to give its real value...
Easy is to promise something to someone.
Difficult is to fulfill that promise...
Easy is to say we love.
Difficult is to show it every day...
Easy is to criticize others.
Difficult is to improve oneself...
Easy is to make mistakes.
Difficult is to learn from them...
Easy is to weep for a lost love.
Difficult is to take care of it so not to lose it.
Easy is to think about improving.
Difficult is to stop thinking it and put it into action...
Easy is to think bad of others
Difficult is to give them the benefit of the doubt...
Easy is to receive
Difficult is to give
Easy to read this
Difficult to follow
Easy is keep the friendship with words
Difficult is to keep it with meanings.

Trigger Happy Tunes - 16 Apr 2004 One of the things I’ve noticed about listening to digital music, whether it be on iTunes or my iPod, is that my attention span is dwindling. Lately, I’ve been running iTunes in shuffle mode while working — it’s fantastic, like my own radio station playing along all day. But I find that even if I’m listening to a great song, I’ll click to the next track before it’s finished. I know the next song is going to be even better. Sometimes it is.
Digging through open windows to find the iTunes interface can be a pain though — even using Exposé, where I have a keystroke to show all windows, click the window, then click the forward button.
If you click and hold the iTunes icon in the dock, a pop-up menu will appear with a “Next Song” option. That worked for me for awhile.
Synergy in the Menubar
But then I discovered Synergy, a little app that puts the iTunes controls up in the menubar. No more wading through windows to get the next song or pause. There is also a ridiculous amount of configuration options for such a small application, including 10 or so different button styles, transparent windows that pop-up telling you what song is playing, etc.

Now I can fast forward through all of my favorite tunes.Visit:
