Net Friends-A Reality ?

by Bimbette » Fri Apr 29, 2005 3:26 pm

Forget the Discussion Boards. Have you met all the people you have corresponded with on the Net ?

Any good/bad experiences ?

How many have become good friends and how many cases of met one more, who's next ?
Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you are right.

Good for you CAD and Aries! :) It boils down to if you are straight in your dealings with people, most of the time they are straight with you.

Hey Bimbette,

How you doing ?

Its strange, how talking to strangers used to be such risk (esp when its done online) I never used to believe that people could meet online and become friends. But I guess the internet has been around for a while and the awareness of risks as well as etiquette is quite common. So people do know how far to go and where to draw the line.

And yes, I have actually met a person on-line and then offline and then got introduced to the whole gang. We meet up ever so often now. I never imagined I make such good friends by meeting up someone on yahoo.
My life has no purpose, no direction, no aim, no meaning, and yet I'm happy. I can't figure it out. What am I doing right?

Hey MLS!

Am doing good, thanx! :-)

The safety bit on the Net ? U bet! A lot of us had been conditioned to believe (in the late 90s atleast) that the Net was not the best place to make friends but yeah that has been proved wrong lots of times, my end too.Its amazing what technology can do! :)

PS Which makes me want to attend atleast one fullhyd meet....coz I've been on the DBs for sooooo long now and I want to see the faces behind the nics! :)

Am I supposed to clap my hands in glee now that I've been invited by The God himself?????!!! :D Thanks CAD. Wud be nice to catch up with real people sometime.

Getting back to the topic, net friends take real long to get comfy with, when compared with friends we've known since college/school. Agree/Disagree, people?

somewhat disagree.

IMO, its easier to open up to a faceless entity sitting in some corner of the world. and of corz its a fact that, the more ppl confide in each other, the easier it is to get comfy with...

with ppl who u meet face to face, its not that easy to open up fast, esp if a person is an introvert or shy.

for an extrovert or a gregarious person, it wudnt make any difference at all...:D
