for those who haven't watched them yet, kill bill 1 gets a rating of 6 out of 10. it has a good story but the direction is ... i dont know what to say!!! its too unrealistic to watch such things happen. the limbs of peole keep comin apart and the aftermath is totally outrageous. i guess that spoiled the movie the most.
now kill bill 2 - this'll get 5 out of 10 maybe a 5.5 but thats the most it's goin to get. as most of the times, the sequel hasnt had the little success that frst part had. the same outrageousness continues...
but in both the moviesm the martial arts are good. thats the only real consolation. uma thurman is as stunning as ever in both...
You cant be serious....of couse different people have different tastes.
Of course its unrealistic but which summer blockbuster movie isnt. You musy have liked Spiderman,or any other damn comic book movies, arnt they unrealistic.....?Forget comic book movies, what about Jurassic Park,Star Wars(Of couse you can give the defence that those movies are Sci-Fi).Can you tell me which movies you like?I can always point out atleast one part of the movie which is unrealistic.
And even I felt that the limbs flying and blood spraying thing was unrealistic but it was fun, pure fun.QT wasnt trying for an oscar w/ this movie(He tried to do this in the second part,I will get back to this later). He was just setting up this part of the movie for the second part.
Its plain and simple, you didnt like the movie because you were grossed out by the blood. It had blood only in the Crazy 88 killing scene.Thats acceptable, but then again why go for a movie which is rated R.I am sure you have seen from the trailers the feel of the movie.Lets say you didnt see the trailers, how about his earlier movie,RD,PF,JB?And please dont tell me that you havnt heard about any of those abouve movie, you stay in the US,most people here heard of QT and his sense of direction. All his movies have violence, swear words, etc.
This reminds me of a quote:
On media criticisms of violence in his movies: "Sure, Kill Bill's a violent movie. But it's a Tarantino movie. You don't go to see Metallica and ask the f**kers to turn the music down."
And KB2 was done beautifully. The scenes w/ Pei Mei was superb. And when people were expecting a big finale in the end,all they get is a small techique. You said this movie was just like KB1.How exactly did you see that? The main reason many people hated this movie because they were expecting another Crazy 88 killing scene.Even I was expecting that but I was at first confused what happened to that sense of direction, then I realised that its a perfect way.Because this movie dealth w/ the fact that bride's child was still alive and now she has to care about both of their lives and that needed emotion.
The sequel DID get as much acclaim as the first movie, maybe you failed to see the reveiws critics gave it.It dealt w/ the emotional side of the bride rather than her distructive nature.
More on this later, have to go and crash.
