Do this for 4 - 7 days and then you will automatically forget smoking!

Fantastic! Good going Vivek!

Am part of a small team and 2 of the 4 ladies smoke. Of course the fact that one is non-Indian and the other, a NRI makes it a lil more common.

Still I've often wondered why ppl smoke......

well , congrats vivek , just stick to the great job you have done till now.

and as for ppl into "pot" ,

just one thing about pot, nicotine has addiction centers in the brain where as marijuana does not.

so cigarettes do create a physical craving where as the only thing driving ppl towards an other JT is just psychological craving.

Thats the reason its physically easy to quit pot than cigarettes. But the issue with "grass"( thats what we used to call it in college) is that it causes amotivation. and once you get into that mode its with great effort that people get remotivated to do anything else.

p.s: I know this for a fact becoz the student scientific club in our college did a full fledged presentation on that.:)

looks like Hyderabad is congratulating me!..

Someone whom i knew bought some quting gums from somewhere. I did not try these and opted for the cold turkey method. For a guy like me who used to smoke in moderate number faced issues when trying to control the urge. People say you would loose temper and feel awful. Feel awful... yes thats true. But loosing temper, that does'nt happen.

Its purly what you body does..had it been just psycological then you can always divert you attention and avoid smoking. But this was is tough people...cross 72 hours of total quit and you are almost out of . However, you do run a risk of relapse for 5 years.

You may loose some friends in due course...i know i will. I have few home buddies who will stay. All of them quit too!. May be we all will go to a coffee shop instead of a pub! someday

Dude, phase - II is very tough. You are out there with a gang who smokes.. if you chose not to go with them on a break, then they stop calling me next time. The next thing i know...is that i lost that personal touch.

The whole exercise would result in a repositioning of yourself in the society....many feel you won't be 'cool' anymore. And that you will become an 'uncle' to everyone. But then, i saw this T-shirt that read ' Its cool not to smoke'!..

I am all confused
