watched easy rider last night, my dad's been telling me to watch it for years but i never got around to it. class movie, very deep. I love Jack Nicholsons character, the stuff he comes out with is nuts.

yeah the stars are Dennis Hopper and Peter Fonda. Jack steals the show for me though.

my email address is

mark(dot)(initial letter of my last name)@initials of the company i work for(dot)com

only my mates will be able to work that out anyway :)

I rented easy rider from Cinema Paridiso. The only films i have on my computer are Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (it's in AVI format too so will take a while to convert) and the surrealistic short film Un Chein Andalou. Not sure if you want either of those but you;re more than welcome over to the house, we could drop by CP and pick up a few movies before hand.

So you fellas got the CP membership together ??

good good.....now all i gotta do wait for a new DVD player.

btw Mark.....hows their collection?

I went there about a year ago, it was good but not mind-blowing. I was hoping they'd expand their genres for more anime, kung-fu and foreign flicks.

Apart from Kurasawa (who they have a large collection of) their Japanese collection is practically non existant. they have a good selection of indie films under the lable of world cinema though. I'd say its worth the membership just cos there's nowhere in Hyd to buy most of the DVD's they have here. i was going nuts seeing the same vcd and dvds in every shop i went to.

so far i've rented:

Requiem for a Dream

Apocalypse Now

Naked Lunch

The Third Man

Easy Rider

Time Bandits

I'd love if they had an anime section, it'd go down well in Hyd too judging by the amount of anime avatars here.

Pope looks to be on the way out (up?), suffering heart failure and infection.

http://dennis4pope.pitas.com/

excellent exerpt from this blog

Dennis wrote:One of the more frightening papal death stories is that of Pope Formosus. His corpse was dug up by his successor Pope Stephen VI, placed on trial, and finally mutilated and thrown into the Tiber River. This leads me to one more promise I will make: If elected Pope, I will whole-heartedly refrain from exhuming and desecrating the bodies of any of my predecessors. Other than cannibalism necessitated by rare and dire circumstances of hunger, there is simply no reason to disfigure another person's corpse.

why are the stars so fuking crazy at night?

I was lying down, face up, on my lawn last night and those bloody stars stared shooting me. what did i ever do to them? it is such a sin to lay down in the grass? i mean... i water the grass, i mow it once in a while, i feed parts of it with free beer. and about the stars, i appreciate them, i love them, and i make sure i put my feelings across pretty loudly, bloody hell they dont understand my language. its not my fuking fault if they dont. right!

Sunrise knocking, on my lonely door

I am talking, to the empty floor

About how, you were there

And I realize, how much I care

I rush out, of my sleepy bed

Remembering, all that you said

Now I wonder, what do I do

All I want, is Only You

I want you here, near to me

So that you are all, that I can see

Your smile, like the song of birds

Puts at ease, my unruly nerves

It's so lovely, when you are here

I don't want to see, you cry a tear

That why I put, in all I can

Just to see you, smile again

Now I need you, by my side

I can see you, trying to hide

Now I'm searching, around for you

All I want, is Only You

They tell me, its not right

But who are they, to decide

What is right, for you and me

It is our love, they do not see

Now I ask you, to pick me up

And let me soar, high above

I can do it, only with you

All I need, is Only You

All I want, you to know

Is that I care, for you so

Please come back, to this clueless man

Who doesn't, quite understand

Why you've gone, away from home

From all, the brick and stone

It is embedded, in your heart

You cannot, with it, part

Come back to me, now I plead

My this advice, you please heed

I cannot live, without you at all

If you're not home, soon I will fall

As I lay, thinking these thoughts

It strikes me, as a little odd

That you are, at your mother's place

Taking your, weekend's rest
Things are supposed to happen the way they happen. And the reason they happen the way the happen is because you try to make them happen in a certain way and may or may not be succesful.

Never say "yuck" when someone burps.

Remember that he could've just farted and given you a lot of pain.
