the US govt. doe snot patent anything...the citizens and corporations do.

this yoga controversy came up recently when a yoga teacher (of indian origin) wanted to restrain other yoga teachers from teaching some exercises he described in his book....he is being oppossed by many other prominent yoga institutes (incl one owned by Mahesh Yogi) on the gounds that exercise routines cannot be "owned" and that yoga is not his personal invention.

by Scorpiouno » Tue Apr 12, 2005 10:03 pm

hey CAD

i dont know if all of our ppl back home know it, at least i didnt have a clear idea when i was there, its the government that makes up most of the stupid decisions that we despise. even most of the americans (the literate ones at least) dont like what the government does...

on topic of patents, the govt only registers patents that citizens/corporates file for. its true in all countries and thats what 'patents' are meant for.

tomorrow if i decide to patent a new method to crap while standing, the govt wud grant it unless it has a valid reason not to.
