So u think players should not be axed, even if they were to be ill-performing for 3 years in a row. And this has to come at the cost of the team itself.

i think the autralian team ssuits a perfect example with the axe hitting hayden in the tests. he had to prove his ability to come back into the series, why cant ganguly be asked to do the same?

Infact i was expectng tendulkar to blast a century and break gavaskars record. but he was totally dsappointing in the way he approached the situation. One person, on tv, made a right commnet...if kumble can play the spinners so well why cant tendulkar and ganguly?



And abt. gangulys performance inthis series, yes he was dissappointing, but theres no reason to drop him. U cant judge a batsman by statistics alone. he had done pretty well till the last series against the SAFs. Its a fact that his performance in the One dayers is far better than in tests. Give him one more chance, I say.

yeh, that was his last century. since then he has some notable, yet, small contributions. His biggest contb. tho was captaining India so well.

This happens to every player. even tendulkar went thru severe bad patches as captain. ganguly has actually done pretty well, esp. in one dayers. His test performance tho, has dipped after he became the captain.



It want b a bad Idea to give him a hint of insecurity so as to make him concentrate on his batting. But I guess that will affect his captaincy too, and thats why u cant treat him the way u wld. treat hayden...or even michael bevan...

I Second that. Ganguly has done a good job though but he has had the

best players at his helm.That luxury was not quite there in Azhar;s time.

Though he had quicks like Javagal,Prasad,Manoj;Batsmen like Sidhu,

Sachin,Jadeja,Himself t his helm,what he lacked was a true Spinner.

Kumble was the sole one sometimes supported by mediocre ones

like Raju,Chauhan etc.



But Ganguly had Really Good Batsmen inluding Dravid,Laxman,Sachin

again,Sehwag,Himself etc.
