Not really. To be very honest, LOTR bored me in places. Especially the first movie.

There is even Terminator,Harry Potter,Indiana Jones.CtrlAltDel wrote:oh yeah...how did i forget that???? is nt that much better than star Wars? The Jackal wrote:Lord of the Rings......Lucifer wrote:CtrlAltDel wrote:i hope this doesnt constitute a blasphemy, but i find the Pink Panther and the 007 series far more entertaining!
I would not count 007 as a series for each movie independently stands on its own, unlike Star Wars. To an extent, Matrix II and III are like that. You need to see I to get II, and see II to get III. That is what constitutes a movie series.

TOD was good, maybe weaker than the other 2 movie but never the less good.Jaszalcatraz wrote:LOTR and Harry Potter dont really count as they were books before they were released.
Terminator 1 is silly and
Indiana Jones has a flaw called Temple of Doom.
Hence Star Wars is greatest Ever.

but take away the computers and special effects and what is there? its just a story of a father and son where the father happens to be the villain. many indian films had similar tales without any spl. effectsJaszalcatraz wrote:Star Wars is greatest Ever.

Yeah thats true but we are able to see all these wonderfull movies these days because of Star Wars.CtrlAltDel wrote:but take away the computers and special effects and what is there? its just a story of a father and son where the father happens to be the villain. many indian films had similar tales without any spl. effectsJaszalcatraz wrote:Star Wars is greatest Ever.

the ORIGINAL Star Wars series....which were almost the pioneers of the genre and amazed ppl all over the world, showing how a sci-fi tale is to be told. it deservedly became a cult classic. we shud remember that when the series was released, it was something new for the ppl. i am sure that if star wars (origina series) were to have released in the late 80s onwards, they would not have been reached this cult classic. The Jackal wrote:Yeah thats true but we are able to see all these wonderfull movies these days because of Star Wars.
i agree...Matrix's no classic either...tho its a gr8 entertainer.Jaszalcatraz wrote:Take away computers from Matrix and you have blank reel left.
cummon man....no one watches a sci-fi film to understand the philosophy of Life....and what Force? u r talking as if its a real concept. its just a imaginary movie funda, for _'s sakeJaszalcatraz wrote:The whole concept of Star Wars isnt a good son and his evil father. Its the concept of the Force and the power of the Force.
The Force is what brings balance to the world. When Evil overpowers good the effect can be felt in the Force. When love is primary, you can feel that in the Force. The evil people do not want money, power, success......they want to be able to control the force. Bring in so much evil that they are the people who decide how the Force should act.
In conclusion.......you got your Star Wars Fundaes very very wrong.
they r just memorable movie characters. who doesnt want to be an invisible Mr.India? who doesnt want to be a Gabbar Singh? who doesnt want to be a Bhuvan....?Jaszalcatraz wrote:Who doesnt want to be a Jedi

Yeah I remember seeing Attack of the Clones in Skyline. And the new Star Wars movies are being released in IMAX.So that would be cool.ycr007 wrote:Was the Last Star Wars movie released in Hyd?
The Experience of seeing Star WarsIII @Prasadz or any other multiplex will
be a good one I guess...

what can i say to that? i liked the movies but did not see it this way...and i dont think i ever would...Lucifer wrote:...To a Star Wars convert, the Force is as real as Indian heat. That is what makes brilliant sci-fi. It takes people on a ride with it. Perhaps you never went with the flow. That is alright. Not everyone has to/can. But, there are many people who have, and to them the movie is about all those things that you call hogwash...
doesnt it also show that there are lots of unemployed ppl with nothing better to do? they are no way different from the fan-clubs we see in south india and look down upon. even Rajnikanth releases are welcomed by fans dressed in their hero's costumes in that film.Lucifer wrote:Do you know that people actually queue up outside theatres showing Star Wars months before its release? Not just that, they are also dressed as their favourite character. Now, which movie has done that?
...and in the days b4 cable TV, there were shows from 5:30 am preceded by a pooja...Lucifer wrote:Even Megastar's movies have people lining up only a day before their release.
 i know...but when Mr.India was released, almost every other kid wanted to be one and many enterprising ppl started selling Mr.India braceletsLucifer wrote:Puhlease! Mr. India? I think I will take a vote on that. Who wants to be Mr. India? Given a choice, would you be a Jedi or a Mr. India?
right! i never said it was a bad series!Lucifer wrote:The point is that no movie has probably touched as many souls as Star Wars has. The cult following is immense and it is strong even to this day. Is that not whay determines how far-reaching a movie is? What is a good movie if not one that has a favourable opinion towards it? And Star Wars has a lot of that.
yes!Lucifer wrote:Yes, Lucas was at the right place at the right time when he released the first movie. Would you not consider him a genius for that? For making something so far-fetched that people had not even imagined it?
yes..but then all sci-fi movies started to look alike and the novelty is now lost!Lucifer wrote:There have been many clones after that but none has come even close to what Star Wars has done.
i agree, but in the sense that it redefined the genre...Lucifer wrote:Star Wars, in more ways than one, is a path-breaker.
well...now Harry Potter is...Lucifer wrote:Could you tell me any movie that has actually been followed this closely and with so much passion?

i was not comparing...it was an example to show that any "different" movie has the potential to be a craze or a generation or two!Lucifer wrote:Never denied the hysteria of Mr. India.
