* Even Jesus, who reminded us to always be thankful, had to deal with thankless people who had forgotten how to say thank you. He healed ten lepers and only one returned to thank him. He asked, "Where are the other nine, did only one return to give glory to God?"
I would have asked, "Where in the ... world are the other thankless ones?"

* An atheist made fun of a father who always gave thanks before meals. The father said, "You remind me of my hogs when I feed them, they dive right in and never once look up."

* Let Us Thank God For His Love and Forgiveness ... Let Us Say, "Thank You" ... To Friends, Enemies, or Whoever ... Be Happy & Enrich Life ... and Let Us ALL Build Heaven & Earth Links

There is one type of person who, whenever he

does a kind deed, will not hesitate

to ask form some reward.



Another type of person, though not so bold,

will keep track of everything he has done

for you, feeling deep down that

you are in his debt.



Then there are those who give without

any remembrance of what

they have done.



They are like vine that has brought forth a

cluster of grapes, and once having borne its

delicious fruits, seeks nothing more.



As the horse that runs its race, the hound that tracks

its game, and the bee that hives its honey, so should

a man be when he has done an act of kindness:

not seeking reward or proclaiming his

virtues but passing on to the next act

as the vines passes on to

bear another cluster

of summer grapes.

He was a powerful mystic from Sri Lanka, near India -- perhaps the greatest to live in the twentieth century. His words drove deeply into the hearts of all who heard them. "God is in everyone. Within oneself, within each single person, one finds many inconsistencies and contradictions. Sometimes the disparity between one's thoughts early and late in the day is so great that one spends all one's energy trying to figure out how it can be resolved. This can lead to headaches.

So naturally, between two persons, between parents and children, between brothers and sisters, there are differences. Conflicts and disagreements are bound to happen.

If so, then how do we deal with them? If we have confidence in our capacity for reconciliation then we will be able to deal with these situations.
