Hi Folks!
As you people may know, me has been trying to learn the Guitar since the past few weeks, and am faring quite well by myself. But I get the feeling that I may not be able to learn properly without coaching. I have three choices:
1. Go to an expensive Music teacher (500 Rs per month)
2. Go to a cheap Music teacher (200 Rs per month)
3. Continue by myself.
Me is quite good in Music and have self-learned the Synth. It will be quite very hard on my Ego and Pocket if I took classes.
Should I take Guitar classes?

I learnt the basics of guitar at YMCA in 1993 for a month, and then stopped. I later picked up one of my old guitar books and learnt the rest myself. I learnt more in one week than I learnt in YMCA for a month.
Many of my friends who are good guitarists are self-learnt. Its the practice and zeal to learn the instrument that counts.

I used to go to ISH for keyboard lessons.It was really expensive.Almost 2000 per month.Hes the best in the city.He also knows the guitar,many people used to go for Guitar,so I suggest you go and talk to him,he gives good advice.His name is Mr.Bennoy.He and his students(Senior Students) teach there every sunday from 9-12.

Dolce is probably one of the best in hyderabad.......its abt 500 per month for 3 classes a week.

Prabhu of Sledge teaches at ISH. It's expensive, it's better to learn from Prabhu directly (W Marredpally). Prabhu won the Best Guitarist award at the Garage Rock 2003 finals. They are playing tonite at Safari, in case you want to check him out.
Sharjeel, you only need a class a week actually. It's all your own practice with a book. The teacher will give fundas on how to read notes and play them. After a level, you don't need a teacher at all except once a month to clarify some doubts. It's 20 minutes of fundas for 50 hours of practice.

u can always learn from kiddo over here..she teaches for free n gives food as well wid the classes ..
