Sting Sets Bangalore in Fire.
Its exactly 7:40pm today, Sting arrives on stage (in palace ground) with his own oriental music in the background and starts singing immediately. Within 20 seconds he takes off his thin coat and drops it on the stage just to get free.
Then, starts the magic with songs "Brand new days", "If I ever lose my faith in You", "Shape of my heart","Roxane"."money for nothing", "Fields of Gold". The marvellous Guitar play and the spiritual effects often made the multhienthic, multinational audience maintain pin drop silence to be followed by cheers in the end.
Some guys were occasionally shouting for "desert rose" which came bit late.
I was lucky enough to be in first row within a distance of 20 meters from singer. The only good one he did not sing was "Its probably me". Of course, I did not expect him to sing "Soul Cages" as it was written for his dead father. He sang almost none stop with just 1 minute breaks twice.
As Cameras were not allowed, many in audience used their mobile phone cameras to the fullest.
He will perform in Delhi on 6th Feb and perform in Australia on 10th Feb w The money raised will go toTsunami Relief. Sting is the first singer to perform a concert on Tsunami relief on Jan 13 in Bangkok.

Anyway, here is the latest statistics.
This was what happened on the crime front in India in 2002.
Apart from these, a recent report of the National Crime Records Bureau said, 59 housewives committed suicide every day, though the average male-female ratio of suicide victims was 61:39.
In its latest report, "Crime in India", the bureau says a total of 5,531,172 cognisable offences were registered, of which 1,780,330 were crime covered by the Indian Penal Code.
Likewise, 1,893 women were killed for dowry in UP, as against 927 in Bihar and 449 in Andhra.
