well my enthu damped a bit with all the revised designation, but what the heck! 10K is 10K...!!!

as i had said, here's an account of my days in the DBs!
i came upon fullhyderabad.com when i was googling for some site about hyderabad. fullhyd was one of the sites i opened and was quite impressed by it (it was in its earlier avatar then). i regularly read the articles in the site (and still do!) like movie and event reviews and became a regular visitor.
i was aware of the DBs, and had signed up early in 2002, but was only an occassional observer. when i read about members planning a meet, i decided to start posting actively so that i may attend it too...and so, my first post was this made on Nov 26, 2003...and the topic is a familiar one, that has been discussed umpteen times by us!
that kicked off a massive post-a-thon by me tho' in those good old days, there were no post counts and titles to be won...the discussions were good, spam free and usually on good topics with lots of banter and leg-pulling too! from the old timers of those days, only HP, Mayavi, CrackedNut, PeepingTom (now, Sujatha) and I post regularly even today and Fiddler posts occassionally whenever he feels like it.
those days the DBs were crude and primitive and the format changed to the present one sometime in Jan '04. that was when many regulars stopped posting coz i feel they were disoriented by the new look. even i became irregular for a short while. HP went into hibernation for a few months before he came back.
the DBs actually had lotsa serious discussion going even after the revamp, and no one actually noticed when the DBs started getting swamped by spam. If i remember right it was Jasz's Shameless PostCount Boosting Thread (part 1) that kicked off the trend of reckless spam and PC++ mania
Az and I were involved in a neck and neck race on who wud become Deccan Deity first. Az became a DD before me and was leading by a few 100 posts, till when one day he stopped posting for a couple of weeks. I overtook him then and never looked back since
Arrival of Alexis and her sisters in May 04 livened up the DBs, esp When Alexis and I started out famous double entendre convo with this particular post of mine
while we managed to irritate almost the entire DB populace with our spicy banter, i ended up making a great friend in Alexis! Lucifer also jumped in the fray and carried on a great entertaining banter with Alexis!
and who can forget SS starting her style of threads inviting loads of spam with this one The difference between the DB then and now, is that while serious discussions have taken a back seat, its more fun now! We end up making great friends (or great enemies, depending on attitude) and having a great time. at least now the mods are taking spam seriously and have decided to clamp down upon nonsense!
Now that i have reached 10K...lets see if i have enuf patience to complete 20K...at the same rate i think it would take abt 8 months more
...and the Odyssey continues!
