My name states I'm a singlular male,

I can have a number, a head, but no tail.

I've also great strength and I can be tough,

But I'll smooth things out when they are rough.

Although I go back to an age now gone,

I'm around today for everyone.

What am I?

Iron.

Singular male = 1 Ron

Number, head, no tail = reference to a golf club (iron)

Smooth things out = reference to a smoothing iron.

Age now gone = the Iron Age

Tough one!
Things are supposed to happen the way they happen. And the reason they happen the way the happen is because you try to make them happen in a certain way and may or may not be succesful.

Sotty For Doubting ur Geekdom Daisy......Really Sorry

Henry has been caught stealing cattle, and is brought in to town for justice. The judge is his ex-wife Gretchen, who wants to show him some sympathy, but the law clearly calls for two shots to be taken at Henry from close range. To make things a little better for Henry, Gretchen tells him she will place two bullets into a six-chambered revolver in successive order. She will spin the chamber, close it, and take one shot. If Henry is still alive, she will then either take another shot, or spin the chamber again before shooting.

Henry is a bit incredulous that his own ex-wife would carry out the punishment, and a bit sad that she was always such a rule follower. He steels himself as Gretchen loads the chambers, spins the revolver, and pulls the trigger. Whew! It was blank. Then Gretchen asks, "Do you want me to pull the trigger again, or should I spin the chamber a second time before pulling the trigger?"

What should Henry choose?

since the first chamber gretchen fired was theempty chamberout of four. the bullets were placed in consecutive order, one of the empty chambers is followed by a bullet, and the other three empty chambers are followed by another empty chamber. if Henry has gretchen pull the trigger again, the chance of bullet that will be fired is one fourth

when gretchen spins the chamber again, the chances that she shoots will be be 1 of 3 or 2 of 6 since there are two bullets that would be in firing position out of the six possible chambers that would be in position.

so henry should have gretchen pull the trigger again without spinning.

looks like we both follow the same sites YCR :D are you by any chance my missing geeky twin

A Guy was going out for a Date for the First Time. He had never

Embraced a Girl Before and was anxious to learn. so he went to

a Bookstore and picked up a book titled 'How to Hug'.

He read it and was greatly disappointed. The Book was of no use to him

whatsoever.

Can you tell me Why?
