Hey people,



I had an idea in mind and was wondering if you guys can tell me how many would be interested in something like this.



It is basically an internet cafe/gaming center. There are two types: you can play over a LAN or over the Net. There will be around 10 comps and a couple of Xboxs hooked up to big-screen TVs. How many of you guys would come in to play? Is there scope of people wanting to play or not? We were thinking of something around 50 rs. per hour for the xbox and 20 rs. for the comps. It would be nice inside, sofas, a/c etc etc



Please give some input, I just joined the board and am new but I just wanted to see if people would be interested in something like this in Hyderabad. There is something like it in the San Diego:

Dude there are loads of gaming centres in hyd.The best one is Frag which is opposite music world.Frag is exactly the place you described above.They charge 40/hr,they have 1 XBOX and 20 computer with the latest games,graphics cards and processors.

Then there is reliance webworld(Which sucks because their computers suck) but they still have a lot of members.And there is Junction in B.Hills Rd.No.12 which is okay.

Yeah and Frag has everything.Recliner Chairs for the XBOX and proper chairs for the computers.Its right now on LAN but the guy said that he will be adding the net feature very soon.And oh yeah even the AC's too.

Well the wallpapers of Frag is orange.But the lights are always too dim to notice.

And if you decrease the price,I am sure it would do well.Like 20/hr is really really cheap.Junction offers it at 50 and webworld at 60.

But it will be kinda hard to top Frag.Everything is just too perfect at that place.All the computers have exactly the same configuration,the lighting is just right,the chairs are comfortable and it doesnt depend on bombay to work.

Like in Webworld,if there is a problem in bombay,everything just stops working.

ANd the locatily is also important.Frag is in B.Hills which is near to most parts of the city.And its also important to place it right next to a college.

Webworld is right beside ICFAI and people bunk classes and go there.The main problem with webworld is that it depends on its mumbai servers and the lighting is just too much that there is a lot of glare on the moniter.

But it will be cooler if you hook up multiple XBOX's so that people can play separately.

Frag sounds like the bomb. I would like to do something like that, but also with the xboxs. You can have separate, system link, as well as Live (not sure about Live because of internet connection issues).



But the 50/hr can be shared between up to 4 people/xbox, right? I mean it's actually really cheap. In the US you'd be shelling out around 7 $s per hour (30 Rs.) each. The xboxs would be the major reason for people coming, but we'd also have PCs (not so many though, around 10).



What's a good location? My knowledge of hyderabadi geography is close to nil. I have heard about Punjagutta(sp?) though. How is that?



Plus, I would be modifying everything to make it look sexy. Comp cases with LEDs and see-through casing, xbox mods (only for case, not inside )... take a look at these:

Rather than spending on eye-candy (as you described above), invest in setting up an ergonomic environment. You want the customers to concentrate on the game and not the nude comp's and consoles.



btw, for how much can i get legit. xbox games in hyd? are they available as soon as the game(s) is/are released elsewhere.

thats a good idea GP...and with the right pricing u can face competetion too...u shud also choose a good location where u get lots of kids with rich parents.

There is already one in Panjagutta.I suggest you to keep it in B.Hills because it nearer to the rich kids of J.Hills.Try to keep it on Rd.No.1.

As MC already told you,try to invest on the Graphics Card than the processors because the entire place would be dark anyway and people wouldnt notice the computers.

I think it'd be a good idea for u to visit the places like Frag, Reliance WebWorld, Junction, etc. as Jackal bhai suggested. It will give u a fair idea how u r going to set one up, if at all U want to take the plunge.



Added to that, there are quite a few other entertainment centres based on games - like @ Prasadz, Lumbini Park, Prime Time @ Somajiguda, etc. You can also visit them to check out what's 'hot'.



And then, coming on to the Place, as CAD bhai suggested, it should be located nearer to Plush areas - like B.Hills, J.Hills, Greenlands (Ameerpet), Somajiguda, Punjagutta, Begumpet, etc. If not those areas, atleast it should be easily accessible. And of course, it'd be a lot more advantage if it's nearer to Schools n Colleges (majorly 1-12th classes)
