I'm on their website and just realized how stupid this whole thing suddenly seems.



All the matches are being played in Hyderabad. They are all being played on consecutive days.from thursdays to sundays. They are telecasted live everyday on ESPN Star from7:30 pm onwards. Matches are played from 8:pm onwards.



The whole point of this should be to promote Indian Sports by having few extremely hyped up matches in various cities and then building from there.

These people are counting on a building a TV audience and then maybe live crowds.

The whole point of bringing in these changes is defeated if you are playing to make money for TV channels and not building a real interest for the game.

If the TV ratings arent good, I'm sure they'll scrap the whole idea.

What else could you expect with ESPN being at the helm of organising it? Around 10 years ago, a similar idea was mooted for cricket (Coming to think of it, even the names of the teams were similar) by ESPN. I know this cuz. I was involved with Modi Entertainment Network, who were selling ESPN in India then. But BCCI nipped it in the bud.



Anyways...I wish they do more for the national sport.
