yes these are.

any new technology or convenience comes with such unwanted baggage. it is nothing surprising. no law is enough to curb this menace and its not possible to police everything.

the best thing the law can do (without turning itself into an ass) is to change itself into something more practically oriented and concentrate on serious crime involving such gadgets.

for example in the DPS case, the Rediff article provided my Mayavi gives sensible suggestions on how to have handled the issue. in Trisha's case, the hotel involved has to be punished severely.

in both these cases its a waste goin on a wild goose chase after persons who spread these videos. by this time i bet half the browsing population of India must have acquired these videos, so it makes no difference.

in kareena issue, since they were at a public place i dont really know if they can do anything abt it, except changing their behaviour.

the best thing to do is to educate the children on what is right n wrong in moral as well as legal terms. sex education is a must, so that they dont get swayed by porn films, books or web sites. parents and teachers must share responsibility.

restricting a technology bcoz of these things is short sighted stupidity.
wtf? i no longer care if my posts hurt yr feelings

Why should one blame a poor mobile phone camera for something that idiot did! He should have shot the micro-film and used for personal purposes!!... then the mobile camera would have been useful 8) .. now that the file is in public domain.. suddenly its mis-use of technology??

All nonsense is created by Media. Media wants to sensationalise things. In a country of 100 crores people, its natural that all sorts of things will happen and keep happening. Nobody can stop any of these. Its simply a waste of time to think of any remedies. I do not know, anybody blaming or banning Khajurao or Konark for the great scenery there. We people in India are trained to escape from reality and supress things. When things are supressed too much, occasional leakages are obvious. Thats what happening as far as DPS or other cases.

So far as law is concerned, its at stone age like Flintstones. Law is like an emergency brake of a vehicle. It is meant to be used only in case of emergency. Can you ever drive a vehicle using an emergency brake ? Law is no substitute for Values, Pinciples (via religion or spirituality or by other means). Unfortunately, democracy makes a bunch of shitheads feel themselves to be wise. We indians are one of the least principled people in the whole world. But we are eager to improve, not by following values or principles, but by depending on law, police or Govt. run by politicians and villains in the garb of some NGOs !!

One fine day, we wake up and say, parents should teach children values. What we do not ask is "does these parents ever been taught any values when they themseves were children ?" We just assume that our previous generation (in fact a very spoiled one) as a great generation.

Why can not we be proactive ? Why do not we anticipate things better much before they strike ? Because we are a treacherous race. What we know is to wag our tails when something is fed to us and not to contemplate and not to use our mind occasionally (remaining silent rest of the times). I do not know where Indians will stand a worldwide survey on individuality of people in various countries.

(Do not mistake me to be a misanthrope because of my words. I can write a whole bunch positive about Indians as well.)
