did you ever..

by mark » Mon Jan 03, 2005 8:48 pm

did you ever have a moment in your life when you felt something really special and possibly terrible was about to happen? like you felt you were about to be something, maybe something supremely bad, or extraordinararly good? i know this is sounding very SS'y, but it happened to me on the was back from Goa. It was the most relaxed i've ever been in my life, but kinda sad cos i won't be seeing my family for a while, when this feeling of tranquility and transparency came over me, and i could see my life from end to end, through all my petty bullshit, my cloaks and smoke and mirrors, and i felt this is the way that Adolf Hitler, or Mother Treasa must have felt before they changed the world. it dissolved after a while but i was left with a warm glow, and a sense of perspective i've never had before. I'm not special, and i never have been, but i felt like if i played my cards right i could be at some stage in the future. my brain has been going at a mile a minute since, trying to figure out what the hell it is i've gotta do. it was a little like an alarm clock going off, like before i was born i had set a 24 year timer to wake me up in time to do something.

anyhow, i know it sounds arrogant as hell, but it felt right at the time. so has anyone ever had an experience like this?

or a feeling or religious enlightenment, or any sudden moment of self perception?

A lot of times I feel that something major is about to happen in my life, and I will make a huge difference in this world. It goes away very quickly, but while it stays, my confidence increases a lot and me gets almost arrogant.

I had such an experience about 2 months ago. It was 5 AM and I was just sitting back in my chair having a smoke. I looked back at my life and the few high points that I've had. I noticed a common factor or a pattern in those moments.

I also realized that I hadnt had such a moment in quite some time. And the reason that I hadnt had such a moment was my own fault. My own egg-headed decisions which did give me happiness but of a different kind.

I decided that day to change my ways and go back to being the old Jasz. As I sat there I imagined myself in quite a few moments similar to the ones in the past but even better since I now had the maturity to enjoy them to the fullest.

But that day another event occurred that forced me into a path where I couldnt return to be the old Jasz.

And I'm pretty sure that for the rest of my life I will look back on that day and think, maybe not everyday, maybe once a week or once a month and think about what my life would've been if only I had done things differently on that day.

PS Welcome Back Marko.......Happy New Year.

On topic, I've never felt that something immensly good is gonna happen, its always been bad but then maybe i just think negative :?
Things are supposed to happen the way they happen. And the reason they happen the way the happen is because you try to make them happen in a certain way and may or may not be succesful.

Welcome back MArk....and wish you a happy 2005

If you're talking about intutions here, I did feel something like this the day we had our meet at Eat Street. Was having some wierd feelings (can't describe them) which somehow materialised into the best news I've heard in my life.

Right at the time we decided to head for some grub after the meet, my wife messaged me askign me to come home. On the way, she called and told me that her pregnancy test had turned out to be positive.

Have had other times too when I get such feelings...will tell y'all about them as and when I remember them.

homework assignment for ya Lizzie. Watch the last 30 minutes of "Goodfellas" 5 times. By the 5th time you'll realise that putting chemicals up your nose will

lead you to rat on Paulie and Jimmy, and leave you stuck in some shitty suburban shack for the rest of your days.

Why don't we all stick to natural highs, like spinning around till you're dizzy, then getting your friends to hit you on the head with a hammer?

Speaking of natual 'kicks', I heard Donkeys pack a mean one, and they are cheap. Don't give you a high (in fact, you may have to lie low for awhile) :P.
