~I'm a Girl~

by Aloeswood » Fri Nov 26, 2004 1:14 am

~I'm a Girl~

And, I believe it all has to do with culture! Traditionally girls were not allowed to vote or be educated...their whole life revolved around the home. So, when a girl became of age...literally her job and her parents job was to find a rich husband. Men have always had the job of being providers and workers, so for men, the goal was not to find a rich wife...although that would be an extra added benefit! The goal for men was to find a younger wife who would be more obdient and still in the prime to have children. Men were typically older than women because after education or entry into the workforce, naturally they would be older. Today, more and more women are educated and have good jobs themselves. If a woman is educated and has a good job, it looks pretty terrible culturally to marry a man with no money or not as educated as yourself. For an educated guy with a good job, it looks normal to marry a woman who may be a secretary or even poor as long as she is good looking.

So I believe both men and woman are materialistic in different ways. Of course, there are extremes at the end of each spectrum where you find women just totally marrying for money and men just totally marrying for looks. I believe most people fall in the middle somewhere and there are many people who would like to find a true picture perfect love, but how do you know you ever married the correct one?! And, I do not think all is materialistic because I want to marry a man who is motivated and successful...that is part of my character. And, I also want someone is handsome in my eyes because personal hygiene and how one presents themselves to the world is important!

Thought I'd rise from the ashes on this board, but can't really find anything to say due to the hopelessly numbed state of what passes for my mind...

I'll handle the kebabs, pop-corn, cool-drinks, hard-drinks etc etc, whtever else!
Things are supposed to happen the way they happen. And the reason they happen the way the happen is because you try to make them happen in a certain way and may or may not be succesful.
