Hey,I Heard somedays bak that Swades has been Dubbed into Tamil and is Titled "Desam"....Feelin' Curious I Heard Desam Songs on the net and was surprised to see that the best song "Yun hi Chala Chal" Has been Left out of the Dubbed movie since the makers felt it was slackin' the pace....

Now what to make of that???

Now if A.R Rahman can compose ten songs then what diff. does another one make

Then why to skip the best song of the lot?

MAybe there were no good Lyrix writers to do justice to the original

Sorry, am bringing this one up after it has long gone past its prime.

Just saw the movie again, today. Yeah the first version didn't have the 'ram leela song' and 'the old character dying'. And ironically there were 3 power cuts while we were watching the movie!! :)

Just wanted to say 'thank God for film makers like A Gowariker'. I had friends tell me it was a 'documentary' and I went 'for once a film maker has tried to send out a message(s) through his film, I do hope its a hit.'

Have had enough of crap that a lot of others from the Bollywood fraternity dish out.

Can someone please tell me whether Swades is a commercial hit? Thanks in advance. :-)
Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you are right.

The opening ranged from 30%-50% at several screens; at some places it was slightly better [evening/night shows], at places lower. The film had not been liked, it looked more like a documentary, the masses – who make or break a film – were dissatisfied, the film lacked in entertainment value, the songs only added to the boredom...

It wasnt promoted properly.

today advertising is the key to success.

movies like tauba tauba......do well only b'coz of the promotion.....

swades ofcourse doesnt come under ^ that category. but it still needed to b promoted in abetter.....the adds that are being aired now shd. have been aired before the release of the film.
