Whatz the Best Eatery in Town???

by ycr007 » Tue Oct 26, 2004 9:37 pm

Hey all ye Hyderabadis,

According to you whatz the best place to eat out in the evening and what would be the ideal menu.I hope views and opinions of Asli Hyderabadis like you all would be of immense help to Non-Hyderabadis like me.

I have visited a few hip places and found "Mainland China" in Banjara Hills to be the best Chinese eatery in town.Whaddaya say..................

P.S: BTW isn't there a McDonald's in Hyderabad???

I found Eats very nice, just a bit loud. Mak's Kitchen near Tolichowki is a good one fer quiet family affairs.

I'd say Angeethi. Great food, great service. Mainland China was disappointing but do check out Ohri's.

For me it will always be Haiking....Mainland China is just too expensive. Its more expensive than the one in Taj Krishna(Forgot the name, its been a while,I think its Golden Dragon) but atleast the food used to be good, now its just horrible.IMO the best continental food can be found at Fusion & and On The Way. :D

Somehow the level of continental cuisine in Hyderabad never came up to my expectations. Dunno but something big is always amiss in all continental eateries...even the 5 Stars. I had Jerk Chicken at Taj Banjara the other day and it was such a big letdown. Add the Taj price tag to it and it becomes a strict no-no.

Have tried Fusion 9 but that too didn't measure up well.

continental cuisine is not that popular here...maybe bcoz of the relative blandness...

try cinnabar Red above Fusion 9...good oriental food!

Speaking of food, is there a Sushi bar in Hyderabad? Is anyone particulary a sushi fan here?

I think Redd has a sushi bar.I went to the pub and not to the restaurant(but they serve the same food).BTW the food is horrible, sure its something different but it wasnt tasty and the ambience sucks.I am sure they serve sushi there(might be wrong). Its right above Fusion 9 and opposite Barista. :)

To all my honey's who dont like sushi, I must tell you that sushi HAS to be eaten at a clean, experienced, traditional sushi bar. If not, then the fish might be old and funky, and old and funky sushi can turn out to be quite disgusting.

Quality sushi fish (preferably tuna) melts in your mouth with its delicate flavors. You can ask the chef to lightly cook the sushi meat if you gag at the thought of raw fish like I do. The first time had sushi it was raw but good. But the thought of raw fish made me squirm, so I started having cooked sushi (oxymoron anyone?) Its still great, with wasabi.
