Alfred Hitchcock hab been a pioneer in the movie industry... I love all his movies.

M. Night Shymalam copies him to the T. Sixth Sense, Signs, Unbreakable, The Village all movies are made on the same formula. And "Night" makes it a point to make a guest appearance in the movie. He stand out kinda loud but its OK.

I havent seen "The Village" so I dont know if he is in that movie. Is he?

his face shows in the reflection of the glass of the medical cabinet! that apart, he does make an appearance in all his movies. not much of an actor tho, thankfully :!:

so, continuing with the discussion on the pioneer: what movies of AH have u guys seen?

Sorry to say that i haven't seen any AH movies.....just can't find them anywhere

Used to like The Three Investigators (his books), but that was a pretty long time back :D
Things are supposed to happen the way they happen. And the reason they happen the way the happen is because you try to make them happen in a certain way and may or may not be succesful.

There is a pretty good collection at both the music worlds(One in Babukhan Estate and the main one :D ).Cheak out Priyadarshini in B.Hills Rd.No.12.I think they will be having some stuff at Cinema Paradise(or paradiso, whatever  ),They have some good collection there but the rules are outrages, how many people can afford a DVD for Rs.75 for 3 day,you can buy a pirated DVD at Babukhan estate for Rs.100 for the same quality(They burn the original DVD's,so the DVD's are of good quality).I saw most of AH movies from my dad's friend,he as a huge DVD collection. :D

cool, me's seen Psycho, Birds, Rear Window, North By North-west so far. All of 'em nail-biters, personal favourite being Psycho  Anthony Perkins, in the one role he was born to play! hated the remake, which i thot was an exercise in futility esp. with the kind of talent backing it.

Cinema Paradiso has got a huge AH collection, n thrz pretty much all of his movies on sale at Music World/Planet M/Odyssey. John Woo would require another thread man, lemme knw who wants/has his movie tho..

u cant get these movies at yr friendly neighborhood pirate library. i saw them all on the TNT channel on TV.. TNT used to telecast some great classics. its gone downhill ever since ZEE took it over and named it ZEE-MGM (now ZMZ)...its become a channel for all unknown B, C or Z movies...:(...with an occasisonal gem thrown in between....but no classics anymore

the original was scary/unique at the time of release, not anymore. but, its true strength lay in the strong direction/acting. the nail-biting suspense, the mindblowing score by AH fav. Bernard Herrman, the ultra-cool shower sequence and the audacity of the master to have the biggest star of the movie killed off within the first quarter. Anthony Perkins was chilling in his portrayal of Norman Bates. the worst part of the remake was the heavy-duty talent involved, they could've made a new movie n dedicate it to AH rather makin a bland scene-2-scene remake. the re-release of the original would've made more money i guess.

John Woo n Hollywood need to be divorced along with Chan/Li/Fat. they're just not the wholesome pair! as i said, shall discuss John Woo once Alfred Hitchcock's given his due share..

Did anyone here see The 39 Steps? It was written by John Buchan (a great storyteller himself) and directed by hitchcock. Probably one of his best.
