Who do you think should be the new BOND 007 ?

by asli_badmash » Wed Jul 28, 2004 10:38 am

Pierce Brosnan appears to be turning in his license to kill, says Entertainment Weekly. ``That's it,'' Brosnan told EW.com. ``I've said all I've got to say on the world of James Bond.'

The serach is on for the new Bond 007. The names suggested

Clive Owen - Brit

Colin Firth - Brit

Hugh Grant - Brit

Gerard Butler - Brit

Jude Law - Brit

Ewan McGregor - Brit

Hugh Jackman - Aussie

Heath ledger - American

Eric Bana - American

My vote goes to

1. Hugh Jackman - X2 (2003) .... Logan/Wolverine

2. Ewan McGregor - Star Wars: Episode I - Obi-Wan Kenobi

Who do you think should be the new BOND 007 ?

BTW;

The best bond ever - Sean Connery

The best bond babe ever - Halle Berry

Robbie Willaims too declared his interest to become Bond but thankfully no one took him seriously.........

Bonds shud preferably be played by Brits to get the right accent. keep Americans n Aussies out.

off at a tangent:

If an Indian actor is to play Bond, who do u think is best?

i vote Akshay Kumar

I feel Hugh Jackman would be kewl as a Bond, the second choice would be Colin Firth.

On the Bollywood scene per CAD : i think Akshay Kumar would work ... though Abhishek Bachchan can also contend .. this after seeing promos of his latest flicks .. Dhoom et al

Counter point: Hugh Jackman did two good movies. Kate & Leopold(chick flick) and X-Men(2). He is sensational on the screen. He might be Aussie but I think he is a good actor. I think he would do good.

I forgot to mention the Irish guy Colin Farrell, if you shave him and make him wear a suit he can be a good bond. What do you think??

Az... Jude law looks weird. He kinda good for Sci-fi roles like Gattaca, A.I. No doubt he is pretty but can he beat up five guys. I doubt it. He is the delicate european blue blood type beauty. Good for foo-foo bunny type of roles.

McGregor is charming but looses out on masculinity. Also he is rather short. But he still got my vote, he is the classic kinda Man, the guy who you would look good in a suit, next to a buxom beauty on a black-jack table, drinking a martini(Shaken not Stirred). He has a good voice too.

We have had enough of OLD guys, we need someone young.

Indian Bonds: Akshay??? I dont think so.. he looks too country to portray sophistication. Amitabh would have made a GREAT BOND.

Bond is supposed to be aged mid to late forties.

Matt Damon looks good as a secret agent in Jason Bourne series but IMO he looks too young for Bond....and I prefer Brits/Scotts/Irish/Welsh in the role

dont let my sister hear u say that

u beat me to that!

From the list u put up, i agree with Az, Ewan Mcgregor is the best bet yet.
Things are supposed to happen the way they happen. And the reason they happen the way the happen is because you try to make them happen in a certain way and may or may not be succesful.

CAD I mean reeeally old guys... I thought BOND was in his late 30's early 40's.

Rock: McGregor is a good choice! Class actor.

Collin is too young to be a BOND; maybe later. So is Jude Law.

Totally agree. You need the dry, crisp, lethal humour of the brits to capture the Bond personality. The problem is there are far more Hugh Grant-like british actors that Sean Connery-like ones.

I'd go for Ewan for the Bond after this one, as he'll fit the role better. For this one, I can't think of anyone suitable. i haven't seen King Aurther so i don't know about Clive Owen, he's supposed to be suitable.

I think George Clooney would make a good bond. He might not have the stiff upperlip, but he's got charisma, and Bond is nothing but that. So what if he's already been Batman? Anyone who's seen him as that know that he's better off without the cape anyway.

he could star in Spiderman 3 too

He's got the right look for Bond, but he's not cruel enough. an often overlooked personality trait of Bond's is that he's an absolute bastard

What??? :o Bana himself told 5 months ago(I know that 5 months is a long time and stuff keeps coming up,but that info is completely false) that all the bond rumors concerning him are not true and the aussie actor that the producers are having talks with is Jackman. This was on http://www.mi6.co.uk (a cool site for bond fans). :D

Anyway Clive Owen fits the part.He plays the professor in Bourne Identity(The scene in the country where Jason Bourne kills him with a shotgun).Check out some of his pictures at imdb.He looks cool. :D
