Hard work? My foot!!!!!

Itz official...hard work, perseverance and other tedious stuff are a bunch of lies..its karma, fate, destiny and luck that make lives..those who argue otherwise, give me three reasons how Uday Kiran is set to bcom Chiru\'s son-in-law, how he made money and became an actor in the first place...

Those are isolated cases. For 100 cases of perseverance and hardwork, you find one case purely based on luck. So, the probability of one being successful just because of luck is very very low. I don\'t see Uday Kiran as lucky - I would say, everything happened to him at the right time. And also, I would consider him successful only if he can sustain (and what is so great about becoming Chiranjeevi\'s son-in-law - actually that\'s news to me!!1). OK, do you think UdayKiran can ever become a Chiranjeevi or Amitabh or Shahrukh - all of whom are here just because of years of hard work - definitely not! Any given day, hard work is the one you can rely on, luck is just like winning a game at gambling.

For every one Uday Kiran, you have 10 other stars who made it because of sheer hard work. Why are you ignoring them? As for becoming Chiranjeevi\'s son-in-law, don\'t you think its more a tactical move. Uday is a sort of star, so Chiranjeevi has choosen a star as a son-in-law. He didn\'t choose Uday when he was just like any regular guy! Its something like history repeating itself. Alu Ramlingaiah did the same when Chiranjeevi was on the verge of making it to the top. I don\'t disagree that luck does play a role but I would never undermine hardwork!

More on Luck Vs Hard work - Some quotes

Our days are identical suitcases -- all the same size -- but some people can pack more into them than others.

Motivation is when your dreams put on work clothes.

I\'m a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it.
--Thomas Jefferson

\"The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary.\"
--Vidal Sassoon

My definition of Luck is Opportunity meeting Hard Work.

Hard work is old Smart work is IN. If you work hard and forget to take credit for it then its almost waste. And luck is just another four-lettered word we use(instead of our favourite one ;-) ) when we dont get the result we want from our hard work.

Assumptions:
1. Total people = N
2. Total things that can be done = T
3. Total no: of \"right\" things possible = t
4. Number of things a person can do = n

When you do something the probability that you will be lucky = t/T, which as history shows is a very very small quantity.
To get lucky, one must do at least one among \'t\' things.
Probability of getting lucky = n * t/T. So, greater the value of n greater is the chance of getting lucky.
The harder you work the greater the value of \'n\' and the luckier you become.

Hard work will not necessarily kill you. But why take the chance.

Those people who take short cuts and don\'t succeed say that u need luck... u should realize that there is no short cut to success, and that hard work is the only way...

May I say it is \'smart work\' and not necessarily \'hard work\' that counts .... take all successful men and women.. they were smart workers not always the \'hard\' types. Hard working people become \'managers\', smart working ones become \'leaders\'.
