Heavy metal often referred to as \"Dark Music\" is a musical movement through theory and ideology. The primary influences seek to overcome the negative through nihilism.
It\'s a transformation rooted in occult behavior, and chaotic mass destruction rebellion. There are a numerous recorded instances of insanity directly and indirectly spawned by overdose of this ideology. What could be the cause?

These destructive tendencies also lead to self motivated philosophies, the handler of which is placed firmly with us. I, have traversed the long-and-winding road of \"Dark Music\" was well aware of what Inger Bergmen (A Swiss Director) has to say about the apparent \"Darkness\" right at the germinal stage. \"I have learnt to master the negative forces and harness them to my chariot and work to my advantage\"-Bergmen -On all the demons in his dreams.

Any more experiences with respect to this?

Metal perhaps the is the staunchest form of music but it\'s kinda hypocricy too i mean the lyrics talk soo much abt. self mutilation and pain. if life is so full of morbidity, y in the name of satan r these band guys living anyways??? but all in all metal IS THE BEST FORM OF MUSIC. Obituary,SLipknot,Sepultura-these r just a few of my favourite things.

Heavy metal is to Western music lovers what Athreya and Arudra are to Telugu music lovers - it actually has character. If you take the \"ooh\"s, the \"yeah\"s, and the \"baby\"s out of the songs of the current age produced by those marketing successes called the Backstreet Boys and Boyzone, there\'s nothing left. You thought you needed to be smart to understand the inner meaning of most heavy metal lyrics. To understand the inner meaning of boyband lyrics, you have to be tremendously imaginative.

hello kishore! I don\'t think u need any sort of imagination to understand boy-bands.. in the first place i don\'t even call them music.. they are for teenie weenie gals.. dumb blondes.. and music and songs talkin about love must accompany the complementary notes and chords.. which i don\'t find in any boy bands or britney or chutney
anyway opinions differ.. but since the message was FOR HEAVY METAL..
do any of u guys heard of a band called CAN or Iron Butterfly or Gentle Gaint or King Crimson.. these bands are said to be the influences for many death-metal bands.. by the way check TOOL out! I am sure most of u have heard about it.. also I strongly recommend system of down, pantera... lemme here more dudes!!!
BTW, I can be reached at raghu330@yahoo.com

Hey, that\'s a grrrrreat line. Here\'s a few of my fav. lines
\"U can\'t kill me, i\'m already dead,
Inside my hole, inside my head\" - Mudvayne.
\"Can\'t see california without Marlyn Brando\'s eyes\"- Slipknot.
\"The hingher u r, the further u fall,
the longer the walk, the farther u crawl\"- Metallica

Amit...U did gr8 thing by starting off this discussion board. Heavy Metal, i guess, is one of the coolest things that mankind has ever witnessed!! :p
But, i don\'t understand one thing here...wat r we going to discuss about? R we going to talk abt tht ideology or philosophy of heavy metal? first...where did heavy metal come from? where did acid rock come from? where did punk come frm? where did psychedelic come from? where did rock come frm? where did R n B come from? In all these genres, i guess the only matured n original philosophy r R n B and Rock. All other genres r less striking variations of the gud old rock.
I dont know much about heavy metal for the simple reason tht i don\'t listen to much of heavy stuff n i don\'t regret. Things that i don\'t particularly like about heavy metal...less musicianship...more noise by techi. musical instruments...very less-if not no-# of concept albums(this is someth i gauge albums upon coz i strongly feel tht albums r not justa bunch of songs made to make dough)...weak lyrics.
well...i\'ve always believed tht music shld make u think n feel...not just make u dance.
I am not here to abuse heavy metal but to tell U guys tht there r ppl. like me who don\'t very much like heavy metal for such simple reasons.
Some of the heavy bands i don\'t mind listening to: Creed n Ozzy.
Some of the bands i love: Beatles, Byrds, Led Zepp, Floyd, Doors etc etc etc. For me, music is a philosphy...its a way of life...i completely empathise myself with my music. For me...my music is my only friend!!
Btw, how many of u guys believe tht the soul of a woman was created below??!!
U can reach me at veron13666@yahoo.com

I think with the advent of gizmos, metal has come a looooooong way from Sabbath. Thanks to ozzy for that. Now talking of gizmos, i think the nu meatl bands like Ratm, Deftones etc r neat but the best ones r ; SLIPKNOT, MUDVAYNE, SYSTEM OF A DOWN, DISTURBED and SOULFLY. But ethnic death metal bands like obituary, Morbid Angel and Cannibal Corpse r also amazing but sisnce theyre death, lyrics r a little unreal. But ppl, Pantera and Metallica remain the sanist yet outstanding. I\'m sorry but i think TOOL is hyped up and isn\'t heavy at all ok Great lyrics but not much substance. U can get in touch with me @ Torpedo_is_here@rediffmail.com and to EVERYONE: U HAVE TO CHECK OUT SLIPKNOT\'s IOWA ALBUM. Some say it\'s better than divine intervention by Slayer or Ride the lightening by Metallica.

Kishore: It\'s not about how many Metal bands u are aware of, it\'s about how much u are a part of the ideology. For instance, I realized that both extreme pessimism and extreme optimism lead to the same answer for \"The Life, Universe and Everything\".

Consider the band u know of. Iron Maiden\'s Hallowed be Thy Name:

\"When u know that u\'r time is close at hand then u\'ll begin to understand

Life down there is just a strange illusion\".
And that\'s supposed be the ultimate truth. Now, there\'s a limitation. Though u may realize the truth, u won\'t get to experience it...
