Its going to be a victory in style for the Prancing Horses in their own backyard. Its going to be a 2 Ferrari's on the podium with the Mclaren of Kimi joining them there.

Its going to be Scarlet Red from now on... so for all the anti-schumi and anti-ferrari fans out there... better switch off ur televisions and think of something else to cheer for.

2 ferraris and a mclaren on the podium ?? even i believe that ferraris with their new car will come back, but you just cant push off Renaults. They are very quick cars and also have been very reliable and also dont under estimate toyota.

like vivek said we l have to atleast wait for the qualifying to start judging

The 6 wheel Tyrell P34 came first and second in the 1976 Swedish F1 GP. Another 6 wheel car was the March, Williams also had a 6 wheel racer. The idea was to cut aero drag by having smaller wheels. Ferrrari also built a 6 wheeler prototype. These cars are real.

Race and Track conditions, Imola GP

by vivek » Fri Apr 22, 2005 12:35 pm

Imola ran its first Formula 1 race long back in 1979, but had some controversy attached to it due to the fact that the same country was hosting two Grand Prix races in that year, which was against the then rules of formula1. In 1980 the second ever f1 race was held here with great enthusiasm and was won by Niki Lauda. This year would be Imola's 25 th year anniversary staging in formula 1 history.

This place also has a lot of history behind it. The main purpose of introducing a motor sport event like formula 1 in this part of the country was to boost the local economy and jobs after the post world war crisis. Also some bad racing incidents on this track shook the world following the death of Ayrton Senna 10 years back.

Kartikeyan Sounded Confident ahead of his First outing at Imola and though he admitted that he was'nt used to Anti-Clockwise Tracks, his practice over the past few days at the Ricard circuit went very well.

But I think Jordan will be under pressure from Minardi who launched their New car some days ago.Though I don' know the Practice times, the Minardi Guys are confident that they got it Set up really nice and are ready to Give Jordan a run for their money.

Well here are the First practice results

Image

and second Practice

looking at the practice sessions jordan was ahead of minardis and narian is doing pretty good........the mercedes dominated both practices, but we still have to wait for the qualifying to judge the cars as some cars in practice sessions may be carrying lighter load of fuel then the other cars

I think he was driving in the Brabham team run by Bernie Ecclestone at the time.[/img]

Ferrari is sure very fast !!!!... I was dissapointed what happend to Kimi, he was doing so well, he had huge lead on Alonso.

Narain was excellent. BAR Honda sure came back pretty good after the dissapointing past 3 races.

cant wait for the Spain GP...Mclaren is having a huge upgrade for that race, it was fast yesterday. Can it be faster ??

It surely was a gr8 race. esp. the last 10 laps when schumi tried to overtake alonso. But alonso survived the pressure brilliantly.

Kartikeyan at 14 is not bad either. :D :D

so whens the next gp?

BAR team alleged in cheating case

by vivek » Thu May 05, 2005 2:39 am

A shocker that came late night. We have put up a small analysis. Help us follow this story.

Now it becomes almost certain that the BAR team will be thrown out of F1 for the remainder of the season of 2005 following a cheating case filed by the FIA against the Jenson Button's car which was found to be underweight by more than 5kg which is against their rule # 4.1 under the article 4 which deals with the weight of the car. Also a heavy fine around $ 1 million is likely to be imposed on them.

ARTICLE 4: WEIGHT

4.1 Minimum weight:

The weight of the car must not be less than 605 kg during the qualifying practice session and no less than 600 kg at all other times during the Event.

The car was weighed by the FIA authorities after the race and was found to be well above the limit of 600 kg but when it was measured again by draining the fuel it was found to be underweight by 5kg.

The reports are that a secret fuel tank was found in the car, some reports also claim that couple of former BAR engineers who had left the team earlier this season had tipped the FIA regarding this issue by even giving information about the use of an extra fuel tank. Many racing teams use extra tanks to create pressure without mixing of much air with the fuel, but these tanks are placed inside the main fuel tank.

BAR team handed two-race ban

BAR will be missing from the grid in Barcelona this weekend after being banned for two events by the International Court of Appeal. It follows Wednesday’s hearing in Paris over the legality of Jenson Button’s car at the previous round at Imola.

As well as being unable to compete in the Spanish or Monaco Grands Prix, BAR will lose the 10 points they scored in San Marino for Button’s third-place finish and Takuma Sato’s fifth-place result.

On top of the two-race exclusion, BAR were given a further, suspended six-month ban, starting after the Monaco race.

Following the finish at Imola, BAR were asked by stewards to drain Button’s car of fuel prior to it being weighed and it subsequently met the minimum 600kg weight limit. However, FIA officials then found a further quantity of fuel in a secondary compartment within the tank. Once this was drained the car failed the weigh-in.

At the time the stewards accepted BAR’s explanation that the compartment, the legality of which was not questioned, was a collector tank which always held a minimal amount of fuel necessary for the car to function, meaning it would have been above the minimum weight throughout the race.

However, the FIA contested the stewards’ decision and the International Court of Appeal decided that while it could not find BAR to have intentionally cheated, the team’s interpretation of the rules was flawed and they should have sought clarification.

The Court said that the only way the car could have met the 600kg requirement was by using fuel as ballast, which is not allowed under Formula One regulations.

It also stated that BAR’s fuel consumption data could not guarantee that the car complied with the rules at all times during the race, hence the team neglected their duty to satisfy the FIA technical delegate of its legality throughout the event.

The verdict leaves BAR without any 2005 world championship points and unable to score any more until the European Grand Prix on May 29.
