how r the other books of Dan Brown? tho his Da Vinci Code had a good buildup, the climax was weak n unsatisfactory. i hope his other novels dont end that way.

Deception Point and Digital FOtress is kinda bad.He cant write a political thriller and an espionage novel.Angels and Demons is just like DVC but more science. :D

Since we are on the subject of Dan Brown, my two cents to it.

I read DVC, and I read Angels and Demons. Both fascinated me for the first one hundred pages. After that, the only thing that got me to read them was because I had to finish them.

The point is that his books are not something that you would appreciate in hindsight, they are not something that you can re-read, hell they are not even something that you could read the first time unless you make a concerted effort. They probably appeal to the junta who is probably just starting out on reading (no offence meant) but I do not think his books would ever be accorded a place within a million moon-distances next to the likes of even Crichton, forget Forsyth and Ludlum.

PS: The point of this post is not to offend Dan Brown fans. It is just to put a view point across.

i agree with Luci. i feel the only reason why DVC was such a top seller is coz of the contoversial storyline. :D its just a fairly good one time TP read. dunno how the movie (with Tom hanks) wud turn out.

Fredrick Forsyth = Boredom!
Things are supposed to happen the way they happen. And the reason they happen the way the happen is because you try to make them happen in a certain way and may or may not be succesful.

OK. So, some people don't like Frederick Forsyth here. Fair enough. I shall not go around defending him because he does not need it. He is in a league of his own, and I will leave it at that.

On another tangent, I don't know if we have touched a book called The Great Indian Novel. Has anyone read it? I just love the book. It is by Shashi Tharoor. Agreed, it is a little difficult to read in places but the overall impact is wonderful.

I am currently reading a book Called 'Bits and Peices - The Lighter Side of Cricket' by C.Venkatesh.

It has some wonderful nuggets abt. Cricket.

Jaiseki...

In 1987 a World Eleven led by Sir Garfield Sobers and Which had players like Sunil Gavaskar, Barry Richards, Greg Chappel, Tony Greg, Andy Roberts, Alan Knot was beaten fair and Square by a USA Eleven in a One Day Match. The match, that was Played on a matting wicket, saw the visitors getting skitteled out for a paltry score of 124 and the Americans romped home for the loss of 3 wickets!

I think DVC is over-rated. The only reason it received so much publicity was due to its controversial story.

Well, the Priory Of Sion does exist although the people stated in the book may not have been members. The ODAN also exists, that is pretty obvious provided that the website also is given in the book. The rest, 'God' knows
