Quality sushi fish (preferably tuna) melts in your mouth with its delicate flavors. You can ask the chef to lightly cook the sushi meat if you gag at the thought of raw fish like I do. The first time had sushi it was raw but good. But the thought of raw fish made me squirm, so I started having cooked sushi (oxymoron anyone?) Its still great, with wasabi.
SUSHI  :x . the worst cuisine on earth. I had to sleep in the restroom the first time I had eaten sushi, I never felt that way even after downing a considerable amount of rum!!!!! And Wasabi........blew my nostrils and my head off. That idiot told me it was spicy...but never told me that it was...strong   .Japanese was a strict no to me thereafter.
If I am the future, we are history.

SUSHI is delectable.. It is one of the best exotic food I have eaten. You have to have it with WASABI.(Horse raddish chutney).. spicy as hell.

It has to be made from fresh fish, the ones that are fresh out of water. You have to go to the right place to have SUSHI.

I beleive there are two kinds of people.. people who like SUSHI and people who dont like SUSHI. I guess raw fish doesnt appeal to many people. :D

i am in love with japanese food, irelands not big for exotic food though, so my first sushi was only 2 years ago , in Chennai of all places, a nice wee Japanese/Korean restaurant. don't know how they stayed in business, we were the only ones ever there.

from what i heard there is a lebanese takeaway somewhere near dhulpet, heard they make really good donear kebabs there. but never really been there or neither do i know the name.

but if want to try similar meat... there is this one place in masabtank exactly opposite to the lane which leads to chacha nehru park., they make awessome grilled chicken. they have one of the best garlic sauce i have had all around the world.

Worth trying if you really enjoy food and are not too fussy about the hygenic conditions (well, no one i ever knew got sick of eating it)

:D bacon, cabbage, and 3 different types of potatos is the real staple dish. thats Irish cuisene actually, the art of trying desperately to make potatos interesting. there must be about 400 different ways of preparing them.

maybe not quite 400, but lots. as a race we've eaten potatos almost exclusively for the last couple of thousand years. if you ever are in ireland try the potato bread, you'd never know it was made of potatos. i think the government gave special grants to people who came up with new and exciting ways of consuming potatos in order to try to get the suicide rate down

I used to like potatoes a lot, even knew about 75 different ways to prepare it, but Im sick of it now. Im going through the 'alive' foods phase right now. Salad, grape tomatoes, fennel, watermelon and navel oranges are a big hit with me right now :)

Speaking of seafood, has anyone tried mussels or fresh raw oysters? I was at this party where it was served, and my friend forbade me from eating it cause she saw half the guys get majorly horny after downing only 6-7!! It was hilarious.....................but then, arent guys horny 89% of the time anyway?

:D  I got this from Produce Pete's website, a bible for fruit and veggie lovers like myself.

California navel oranges are considered by many to be the best oranges in the world for eating out of hand. They have a meaty flesh, their thick rinds are easy to peel, the segments separate easily, and they have no seeds. All navel oranges have a navel at the blossom end - an opening with a convoluted interior that looks, well, like a navel. Some have a very small navel; others have a larger one. If you're in doubt, inspect several in the bin. A quick poll will identify the variety.

mussels are really tasty

back home i lived a few minutes walk away from a really great mussel beach, used to go down occasionally to collect a bucket. i'd sometimes find oysters, i've tried them a couple of times, they taste metallic and slimy, i'd try them again though as it's supposed to be an aquired taste.

:) last time i tried them was years ago, and i was surrounded by family, so no i didn't notice anything different. i don't really believe in aphrodisiacs now and i wasn't aware of them at the time, i think its all in the head really
