Telugu veera levara! They've directly used scenes from speed in that movie. Some scenes show a greyhound bus, otehrs show a RTC deluxe bus.

Remakes are a different genre altogether. Do we need to discuss more than the fact that the classic CIRCUIT from Munnabhai is going to be trivialised into an ATM (Any tIme Murder)...no wonder anyone can walk into Tollywood as a hero.

Reading through the post, I also thought of dubbed versions of hollywood blockbusters...some gems just ran thru my mind.

1) Jamie Lee Curtis in True Lies (Hindi mein) - Mera pati Rambo kab se ban gaya? (When apna Arnie is singlehandedly making a scrapyard out of the terrorists' hideout.

2) Keanu Reeves in Speed (Hindi mein) - Kya tumne apni gaadi ka bima nikala hai? (In the opener)

3) VoiceOver in Jurassic Park (Hindi mein) - Ye Jackie Shroff ki aawaaz hai. Paise mein koi kasar nahi chodi hai. Incidentally, JP happened to be the trendsetter as far as dubbing hollywood films into hindi is concerned.

and this one beats it all. A hindi subtitle in the STAR Movies telecast of The Mask. This is when Jim Carrey has discovered the powers of the mask and is out to party. He shouts "SMOKEYYYYYYYYYY" and the subtitle read "Dhoomrapaan".

Translations into Hindi is a never ending laugh riot.

How bout this one....Eric Cartman's Goddammit in Hindi can possibly be "Iski Maa ka"

thats reminds me of the time I saw Kaante in Sydney...the film was released there with English subtitles and reading them was a riot! "F***"s and "A*****" replaced even common chota mota gaalis!

Some particular gems:

Sanjay to Sunil Shetty (talking about Malaika) "Usko naachte dekh, mera Baburao bhi naach uttha hai!"

Subtitle : "I get a hard-on seeing her dance"

Mahesh Manjrekar: "Dhat teri..."

Subtitle: "F uc k ..."

Some character: "Haraami..."

Subtitle: "You F uc k ing as sho le"
