Cricket World Cup 2003 - India's chances, and more

by Shaad-Aabaad » Mon Feb 17, 2003 6:02 pm

Well we all know what India\'s chances are now, don\'t we? There is just one hope left now--that we give a drubbing to the pakis. If the team can\'t manage even that, then we deserve to disband them and start concentrating on other sports. Its all gone to their head....

My worry NOW is that, what if India - pak match become the deciding for India. What if rain hampers and DL rule become unfavourable and we endup lossing the Namibia match!. Who says it cant\'t.Remember that match when SA was asked to score 22 of 8 balls, then it again it was changed to 22 runs in 1 ball?. I am not saying this might happen, but it might also.Plus, we have players like Lara, gillispi, brett lee and not flemming in great form. Frankly, i think we might jussst make it into super sixes, but then it would be hell for india. Also, we need to put an extraordinary show from now on, just to cover up and makeup for runrates that we lost in the AUS match. Because, entry to super sixes might take Avg run rate incase of a tie, then we would bite dust.

I wonder why we batted first in the AUS match. You see we have been good at chasing total rather then setting one. Although centurion was a first batting wicket, we should have chosen to chase, contain them in say 225 then play to that.

commentry does not suck, its killing. Plus you have mandira doing something even she does\'nt know. Look i say, if you don\'t about Cricket, atleast pretend. She seems to be failing even at that. Charu and her, big contrast. Anyway, Canada was squashed, anybody saw that match?.4.4 overs and the match is over!.India would not be over confident and goofup in next the Namibia match. Notice even Ganguly dada missed out that match when he said we have play 3 matches. Boy, these \" boys\" ( which includes uncles and dads)did the same thing with Holland, we won.But what kinda runrate??. Then we have ricky martin bowling. I miss cricket in ESPN, they have a way to cover it. BY THE WAY, WHERE IS GAVASKAR??. Did anyone know, 5 Indian players were found have oversized bats in this Wcup03 and that includes our dada captain. Clive lyyod the refree said this and said this was a violation of rules and if continued can result in ban. Imagine 5 batsmen of India banned!!

We came we saw, we won, we lost badly, then we kept winning. Wish this becomes true for India this worldcup. We are sure in super sixes, but the Pakies in trouble. So they would play like animals, or say beasts. India-pak match would be great thriller. But i feel Nehra is actually lucky!, rather then calling him \' in-form\'. Sachin should repeat his innings of End again and so should dravid with his class batting. Now Dravid is one guys with maturity. Dinesh and Yuvraj should swap places. I find we need Sachin-sewag as openers, followed by ganguly. Then Dravid, by his time Sewag would have finished his role as a night watchman, the there would stikers at both ends. Don\'t miss Sachin and Akram duo!. Indian showed an extreme sense of commitment yesterday, amazing. What do u think, or do u all prefer to fight with that woman who called u all \" bad flirts!\".

By the way, great work kishore and team. The boards look amazing now, and if i am right the design underwent the change three times today. Are you still experimenting, you might wanna change the size of the font of \" new messages\", they look BIG and bigger if the replies are huge, try same font size different colour. for those who don\'t know i am talking about - this is my attempt to keep the board in the number one slot

Yes your said line up is pretty good and it would be really thrilling to watch the Wasim and Sachin duo, but more importantly i am waiting for the Sewhag and Akthar battle out there. Its not fare saying Nehra was lucky - he may not be the bowler with previous records, but did u saw the impeccable line and length and the pace upto which he was bowling yesterday, he deserves it.
I think this would even do better, with the form of the openers we should reach upto 80 runs without loss, then we have Ganguly and i think the position of Dravid should be changed to 4th, then Yuvraj/Dinesh depending upon the number of wickets we lost...And what has happend to Harbhajan yesterday, he lost his line completely (too many extras down the deep fine leg & 3rd man\'s position).
With the recent form of pakis and may be with the help of Inzamam as he did in previous WC, and the stats behind the history ...we have a fair chance of winning this ultimate game.

True, like they saw chance favours the prepared man, Nehra was all set and pitch favoured. Now this was my analysis went. Its good that Kumble did not play, but my knowldege tells me that Englanders are not so good with indian spinners, however,Kumbles 10 over spell would have given Micheal Vaghauan (whatever)and collingwood chances to take revenge, so good that he did not play. That match would have an new story with it had Trecothik and Micheal played together for say 15th over!, we should thank the stars to let the first wicket fall so fast. Only if half of what it happened, happens in the Paki match.Watchout guys, how many are watching in a pub??

U never know guys, i am just being realistic, my heart wants India to get the game. I think our batting lineup can do a great deal in the team, i am worried about our bowling. Harbhajan is in the team because he can bat also, afridi and inzamama can do some damage is they are let to play. Our sachin and sewag can handle aktar and akram, only if sachin keeps his bat a bit close to his body, else akram would get a caught beind easily. However, Indian won all Indo - pak matches in worldcups. I think most those times we batted second. Its crucial to win the toss and Ganguly has a bad record on that!

And what r these girls doing not watching? No responses yet... Isn\'t this a time to celebrate our win, that too over our arch rivals? Bolo India Zindabad Pak. Murdabad!

You bet man, the most relevant board (this one) is being pushed back and I have make the extra efforts to get the board rolling. Anyway, yes we are into the super sixes. But it would be a treat to watch the Pak-Zim match, it\'s a knockout for Pak in that match and they would play like wild guys there. Today\'s match is also an interesting one. Hey, any foreign celebrations??

Smocking Rock, buddy, me here... Actually Thursdays & Fridays it\'s weekends here and Saturday I took leave, that\'s the reason I did not participate in any board... But now you will see all the replies to all these boards... Well, at the very outset, allow me to congratulate our Indian team - and congratulations to all our fullhyd.com team members and all the active board members of fullhyd.com. Well, it was a smashing victory over Pak, unbelievable! Just to inform you guyzz, we the guys staying abroad have also celebrated this great victory. I hope all the indians around the globe did not go to their offices on Saturday - took sick leave or any other leave - and celebrated. Here in Riyadh too there were crackers all over, and everyone was saying, \"Salay bohot udray thay\". In one of his interviews on Saturday, Shoaib Akhtar told media persons that \"Mai Indians Ka Waqt Kam Kardoonga\" - meaning \"I will reduce the time of the Indians\"... But poor guy, his time was reduced in very first over. Good work guys... I know there are a few people who are Indians but support the Pak team - guyzz, one should know that we are Indians and we should support our country. Again, I pray to god that insh. we get the World Cup, with same victories coming again.

Dear friend, thanks for the interest shown over me... First of all, I got depressed in the past 04 over India\'s cricket performance. My mind had been frozen with respect to cricket. So I never showed any interest in seeing cricket. But with India\'s victory over England and especially over Pakistan, I am getting my interest back. That is why so far I did not participate in this board. But now I am sure that India will reach the semifinal.

Yup!, our place in the semi can be expected, this is intelligent optimism. We never know, looks like Ausies are also in great form based on today\'s Aus -Eng match. We need to keep up the same spirit and let the Nehara\'s and Zaheer\'s be stable unlike what could have been an Indian bowling disaster in Indo-pak
